D 300 is a truly great camera, is definitely a jump from the previous D200. The main advantage of the D300 is the low noise at higher ISO. I recently shot a musical performance under a very low light condition, using ISO 1600, and was surprised to see that the D300 produces very little less noise. The auto focusing is fast, with 51 AF point is very helpful when shooting moving objects. When shooting with 12-bit NEF or JPG, I could get 6fps, but the speed drops to 2.5 fps when shooting NEF 14 bit. It is a perfect camera to shoot in low light situation, especially when there are a lot of actions going on. The Live View feature is also a nice advantage, even though I am used to peek from the viewfinder, but it is helpful when we want to capture a scene at unusual angle. Overall D300 is a great camera, the image quality, fast focusing and low noise at high ISO are definitely the best feature.

I've just barely scraped this into Helpful rather than Somewhat Helpful as you've given a few good tidbits of interesting info, but reviews really need loads more detail for better ratings. Have a read of reviews rated 'Very Helpful' and you'll get an idea!
