improved performances and a higher sensitivity than ever before! The D3 combines a 12.1-megapixel FX-format CMOS sensor with 6400 ISO sensitivity, guaranteeing you breathtaking images in any situation. The Multi-Cam 3500 FX autofocus system with 51 focus points (including 15 cross-type sensors) provides excellent coverage as you photograph, while the EXPEED processor produces images of unmatched quality. The D3 has an impressive shutter speed of up to 1/8000 s and captures shots at a rate of 6 fps, making it the ideal camera for sports photographers or reporters. The dual memory card slots provide you with all the storage space you need to save your photo projects in NEF (RAW) or JPEG format. The 3 TFT screen on the D300 rivals that of its competitors, displaying images in 920,000-pixel resolution and allowing photographers to set up shots on-screen using the LiveView function.Compatible with both FX and DX format lenses, the D3 is raising the bar for sensitivity and speed!
screen protectors that you find on iPods, digital cameras and media players. The Giottos AEGIS is a high translucent, optical glass sheet made from Schott glass of Germany. The screen lays over the camera's LCD panel to protect it against abrasion, scratches or accidental impact. The glass used has special properties to reduce ghosting, minimise light reflections and ensure maximum light transmission. It has a 12 layer coating that's also claimed to protect the camera's LCD from UV so its life is prolonged. The screen is water repellent and resistant to acid, so you're not only protecting it from scratches, but the elements too...and this includes your greasy nose that is often resting up against the LCD while you're looking through the viewfinder. Included accessories: Micro-fibre cleaning cloth
- Blow, shock and scratch resistant - 5 years guarantee against scratching of the foil - Easy handling - No colour or contrast distortion - Self-adhesive and removable without residue
...'t allow me to use the aperture ring on my old lenses. It's not a big problem as the aperture is now set using a very useful finger-wheel which seems to have become the new standard for all SLRs. The old lenses work very well with the D80 body. I just need to remember to lock the aperture ring to minimum aperture setting. Also of course the sensor is smaller than a 35mm slide, so wide angle lenses are a bit less wide-angle than they would have been on a film camera and telephoto lenses a bit more telephoto, but that too appears to be the new standard except for very expensive professional cameras such as the NikonD3.
As for the photographic results, I certainly can't complain. The metering and focusing are excellent and colours appear very vibrant and images very sharp.
Overall this is a very good mid-priced DSLR sitting between...

Advantages: Easy to use and robust! Disadvantages: None found yet
...This little device is brilliant! It opens up so many more doors for photographers. It allows the photographer to take pictures from range with no wires trailing whatsoever and from a range of around 5 - 10 metres at least in my experience. It is compatible with the D80, D50, D70, N65, N75, and F65 (http://www.slrtoday.com/articles/148/1/Going-Wireless-with-the-Nikon-ML-L3 -Wireless-Remote-Control/Nikon-ML-L3-Wireless-Remote-Control.html) and is incredibly simple to use. On my NikonD50, all i have to do is hold one button and swivel the dial a couple clicks and there, all set up.
This allows the photographer to take photos of close up wildlife from a distance (so that they arent scared by some big human). It is also handy when it comes to astronomical photography. When the remote mode has been activated and the shutter speed turned...

Advantages: Long battery life giving over 900 pics per charge Disadvantages: quite heavy but no other faults found
...I purchased an S3 DSLR having owned a 6800 for some time. It accepts all the popular NikonD type lenses as well as other makes. It features a dual sensor for even sharper better tone pictures. It also accepts the latest Nikon Zoom flashguns.
Unlike previous (S1 and S2 camera's, the S3 only requires a single set of 4 AA batteries. I use NiMh 24 - mn and on a full charge you will be able to take an average of 900 - 1000 pictures including limited reviewing.
All the usual features are present in a camera of this price.
This would not disgrace any professional photographers kit and although there are cheaper DSLR's finding one to match the picture quality of the s3 would be difficult.
I use it mainly for action event photographt but it is actually better suited to portrait and panoramic photography. for me, having already owned both...

Manufacturer's product description
Designed with sports photographers and photojournalists in mind, the Nikon D3 introduces an astounding list of brand new features and technologies that make it the most sophisticated and advanced Nikon digital SLR to date. In addition to the new FX-format CMOS sensor, the D3 incorporates Nikon's new EXPEED Image Processing System that is central to the blazing speed and processing power needed for many of the D3's new features. Images taken with the D3 reflect exceptional overall quality, broad tonal range and depth, along with extremely low-noise throughout its normal ISO range of 200 to 6400. By setting the camera to its built-in options of Lo-1 or Hi-2, the ISO range of the camera can be expanded to the equivalent of ISO 100 or ISO 25,600 respectively, offering unmatched versatility in practically any shooting situation. The D3 also features an entirely new 51-point auto focus system with Nikon's 3D Focus Tracking feature and two new LiveView shooting modes that allow photographers to frame a photograph using the camera's high-resolution LCD monitor. The D3 uses the world's first Scene Recognition System to greatly enhance the accuracy of auto focus, auto exposure and auto white balance detection in the camera by recognizing the subject or scene being photographed and applying this information to the calculations for the three functions. The D3 reflects Nikon's most streamlined, functional and aesthetically pleasing layout in a digital SLR camera, all designed so photographers can take pictures with less fatigue, greater accuracy and comfort.

Advantages: Best Feature in Great Price Disadvantages: None
...The D80 is another superb camera in Nikon's impressive DSLR range. It is extremely well made, incredibly versatile and capable of fantastic picture quality. The NikonD80 is an enthusiast's dream and is incredibly rewarding to use. I had always a dream of buying NikonD200 but with the release of D80 in much more economical price and the features somehow same to the D200, I was impressed.
It has a new and improved 10.2-megapixel image sensor. It is an interesting mix of point-and-shoot and serious camera, Nikon's D80 has been touted as a 'little sister' to the D200 model and offers many of the same features and the 'quality' feel users have come to expect from Nikon DSLRs.
This is a highly recommended camera that can outrun every other DSLR camera in the market....
