I own this camera for quite a while now and I'm fully satisfied with it. Though its 6.1 - 10.2 mega-pixel resolution was beaten with over 12 mega-pixel offered by new Nikon D300, for the price I paid Nikon D60 served me very well. Quality of pictures is still perfect and fantastically focused. As good DSLR camera should, Nikon D60 gives you loads of space to learn, train and improve your skills in photography. The advantage of it is the price of lenses. Once you widen your skills you'll start looking for different lenses and comparing to other brands Nikon is very affordable, also allows you to fit lenses by other producers. I'll skip all technical sepcifications that you can find on sellers websites and focus on my experiences. Ok, we have camera body and for example 70-300mm lens, and that is a bit heavy. Get a good bag for it, as shoulder strap won't be very comfortable. Changing lenses might let a bit of dust on the sensor (little mirror inside), cleaning it is a bit of pain but you can do it at home following instructions from the internet. Producer informs about "innovative dust reduction system" but I had to do it manually. Large, bright 2.5-inch LCD monitor gives you perfect preview of pictures. Everything else about Nikon D60 is cool though I would'nt buy a new one considering so many new models on the market. If you'll find a bargain price (i.e ebay) then it's a different talk. Go for it.
Price range: £350 - £400 with 18-55mm lens It's worth looking at camera "body only" offers and buy lens seperate.
