I have just been reading a few facts about her perfumes and one of them really caught my eye, Nina has one very famous perfume called L`Air Du Temps and the glass bottle was designed by Marc Lalique. I am sure that we have all seen the Lalique glassware being shown on the antique programmes and have been astonished at how collectable their work is.

When I bought a bottle of Nina Eau De Toilette I am sure that the wonderful bottle was one of the main reasons for my purchase, maybe not the right way to choose perfume ! The deep pink glass bottle is shaped like an apple and the wonderful silver cap has silver leaves attached to it..maybe this one will be worth a bob or two on Antiques roadshow in a few years to come...look out for me won't you..I will be the one with a hearing aid and a zimmer frame !
If you search around the perfumes sites on the Internet you can now manage to get a 30ml bottle of Nina Eau De Toilette for just under £18, if you talk perfume prices then this is not too bad.
When I used the tester in the store the sweet light fragrance came over as soft and playful but since that day I have slightly struggled to `understand` this fragrance. Ricci's `Love In Paris` and `L'air Du Temps` are to die for and maybe I have been spoilt by what I already have. `Nina` seems to be from a totally different planet, it is far muskier and deep than I initially thought that it would be. But that is not to say that it is one that I have given up on by any means.
The inspiration for the perfume came from the `red toffee apple` and from what I can gather this means that the first smell to break through would be the crisp sharp surface and then the softer lighter note will be `hidden` in the middle. Every perfume is unique and I love to examine the `ingredients` if that is the right word ! In `Nina Eau De toilette` there are quite a few oils and scents vying for pole position, these include citrus flesh ( Lemon and lime ), vanilla , praline, moonflower, peony, white cedar, applewood and then the soft musk's.
The fragrance notes are meant to unfold over a period of time allowing you to make the most of each and every fragrance that has been included in the perfume. Perfumes react very differently to skin type and temperature and when I first use the spray the first smell that comes rushing through is a very musty musk that I find unusual and maybe not one that I would instantly fall in love with. But then something strange seems to happen, as the perfume ripens the centre floral notes seem to start to shine through and that starts to put the whole fragrance in a different light. A good while later that musky smell has all but disappeared and the light, sweet florals have completely taken over.
This is the reason why I said I had difficulty understanding the perfume, it a a bit like a chameleon. I have to admit that the initial musty musky smell holds nothing for me but the fragrance that evolves is sweet and fresh.
It fades within a few hours but then you are left with a very soft floral smell which is good, I love vanilla but I miss out on that one altogether.
Very difficult to pin this fragrance to any age group, I am happy to wear it from time to time and I don't see it belonging to any particular generation. I have no idea what Nina Ricci has classified it as ..daytime or nightime..but I would put it firmly in the daytime wear range.
Advantages: Everything a perfume should be Disadvantages: A little expensive
Untill last year Nina Ricci was a brand name I hadn't heard of before. After opening my present and seeing the perfume I wasn't sure what to make of it.
***The Bottle***
It is incredibly small and seems very fragile. The bottle is in the shape of an apple( red in colour), with leaves at the top draping over the sides. To look at it is very pretty and girly. An essential accessory for that purposes alone. The bottle was inspired by the Fille d'Eve ... ...behind the perfume is that Nina Ricci wanted something that was enchanting, a romantic fairy tale - and she did achieve it! Ricci describes it as a designer perfume that blends temptation, femininity and modernity. It was inspired by the red toffee apple with tender flesh and a crisp outside to tempt and charm.
The perfume was three "magic notes" to it - the top, middle and base.
***Top Notes***
Starts on a sparkling and spontaneous note with ...

Advantages: It doesn't wear out, no need to re-apply. Smells goreous too. Disadvantages: During summer it can attract the bees. (lol)
After years of growing up and finding my place and my own person I eventually found the right Perfume, I imagine all young women will understand me. This is one gorgeous Perfume I discovered in Superdrug for around £40 for 80ml. It's a sweet fruity fragrance which is in no way over powering, and if (like me) you would like to steer clear of anything flowery this is perfect. I find it's completely the opposite of anything flowery or rosey. I have ... ...smell' and asked which perfume I use.
The 80ml 'Apple' has lasted as very long time for me, around a year so far as it doesn't wear out through the day and I never have to re-apply it. I have also bought myself a gift-set in this time from an airport shop which included the 80ml, a handy 30ml Perfume and 50ml Body Lotion for around £40.
I would recommend this Perfume to anyone looking for a trademark scent which is fruity and sweet and a bit unique. ...

Advantages: Excellent value for money, long lasting and beautiful fragrance Disadvantages: There isn't a big enough bottle!
Nina Ricci is famed for her light and refreshing fragrances, which carry their aroma right through the day without causing people to choke on what other perfumes have - an overpowering smell.
This perfume is a personal favourite, I never leave home without it. It has a very sweet and fruity aroma to it which lasts and lasts and lasts. There is almost a romantic element to it which makes this a perfect scent to tease and tantalise.
Not only this, ... ...bottle really lasts.
Unlike Nina Ricci's other scents, 'Nina' has the ability to be worn as both a day scent, or as evening wear. The combinations of Calabrese Lemon and Lime Caipirinha sit elegantly above Red Toffee Apple, Vanilla Infusion, Moonflower and Peony Petals to give a refreshing finish which oozes with femininity.
An absolutely beautiful fragrance which sits at the very top of the list as one of the brilliant value for money perfumes ...

Advantages: Fresh, fruity, unique. Always complimented on my 'smell'. Disadvantages: None
While on holiday with some of my girlies I spied a bottle of this stuff in my friend's toiletry bag. I'm a rather nosy person and I thought the ruby coloured 'apple' with shiny silver leaves and bulb looked very appealing; this design was simple yet elegant and so I had a quick sprits to test it out. The scent was so delicious- fresh, fruity and very addictive-ever since, I've been hooked!
Having since bought my own (hooray for duty free!) ,this ... ...complimented by both sexes and asked what perfume I have on! (On some occasions I won't have had time for a shower that morning and will quickly spray this and still get told I smell lovely!). I haven't found this product to be greatly advertised and have only ever found one other person I know to wear it so would say this is still quite a unique scent.
I would say this perfume has quite a good staying power-I usually spray twice to my neck and ...

Advantages: smells gorgeous, nice bottle Disadvantages: doesn't last too long, quite subtle
and vanilla notes that it contains.
The base notes of this perfume (or should I say EaudeToilette, because that's what it is) are supposed to be apple wood, cedar and soft musks. I'm not keen on anything musky, however, the perfume settles on the skin, to give a slightly woody yet sweet scent, which is still feminine and not too strong.
Overall, the scent is fruity, sweet and yet gentle. In fact my main criticism of it is that it is a little too gentle - I find it quite subtle on the skin, so I sometimes can barely smell it when I'm wearing it. The scent isn't quite as long lasting as some others I've tried, I would say it needs re-application every 5-6 hours.
A 50ml bottle of this perfume costs £28.50 from Boots, although like with any fragrance it's worth shopping around for a better deal.
Overall, this is a lovely fragrance ...
