First of all I want to say sorry if I'll harm any Ninja Gaiden fans, I have played this game for some time, and I regret that I've payed 40 quid for it in this review I will be honest about this game.
This game is Hack'n'Slash type of game, and there is lot's of battles in which you need to fight with all kind of different enemies. Every enemy have some abilities that makes the battles more challenging, you can't just run straight and swing your sword all around, the game makes you to jump as some crazy freak and make all different types of kick ass combos but that's what being a ninja is about.
There are plenty of nice looking moves that you can do, but with some time you get bored with them, then you need to join them in pretty advanced combos, but when you master that, then again it gets boring. Few type of weapons is helping this game really much, adding the choice of which weapon you like the best, during the game you can improve them to be even more deadly.
The story plot for me is disappointing a little bit, some guy attacks your village, steal some artifact that will open some kind of hell doors or something like that, and then you just run through the game kill enemies and fight bosses, for me the story is poor and boring, but for Hack'n'Slash games story should not matter.
Graphics are nothing special as well; the level design team was having really bad days designing them as they look poor and simple, no details of whatsoever!! Characters look well, but could have much more details, comparing this game to games like Gears of War is like heaven and hell, Xbox can deal with much better graphics than those seen in this game. Team Ninja have add lots of blood splashing all around when you fight, and the body parts of your opponents fly around making it look like you're the kitchen mixer and they are some kind of strawberries or something, it's nice feature but probably something gone wrong with the script or something and sometimes the game get's stuck and you loose the orientation as the camera goes crazy in the same moment. Camera is almost ok, only sometimes during the battle you can loose orientation because of it (not only when game gets stuck) instead of seeing battlefield you see your back.
The audio is full of screaming from pain enemies, sound's of blades cutting enemies in pieces and some more, but still the same. After hour of playing I've needed to switch extra music to continue playing.
Ninja Gaiden 2 is a good game for Hack'n'Slash and Ninja Gaiden maniacs. Game is challenging, so advanced players might like it as well. But if you like to enjoy yourself playing, and you play games on easy better don't waste your money on this game because you won't finish it.
