It's a new me
Advantages: It's Mario, it looks lovely, sounds brilliant, plays well Disadvantages: A little easy, a little short, a little lacking in possible DS features
...The game also introduces some new power ups to the mobile Mario series as well as the Super Mario and Fire Mario forms, there's also a blue shell power up to turn Mario into Shell Mario, there's a Mega Mushroom to turn Mario in to Mega Mario and theirs also a small blue Mushroom that turns Mario into Mini Mario. These can be used to go through levels in different ways, with some routes only being available to Mini Mario.
Overall the gameplay is ... ...player only needs to complete 6 of the 8 worlds so it is rather short and it's not particularly tough to play through, there are a few difficult sections but on the whole it's actually quite simple and you'll be through it in a few days which is a bit of a shame. Though it must be said it does look rather pretty the backgrounds are smooth and well created whilst the foreground graphics are colourful, attractive, smooth and yet eloquently chunky. ...

ego: Indian Jones, A must for all ages (Lego Indiana Jones: The O
Advantages: So many levels to play over and over Disadvantages: Can get confused on some levels
Lego Indian Jones The Lego games Speak for themselves they are addicting, fun and mesmerising platform games. I purchased Indian Jones 4 months ago and have been addicted to it since then, like a 5 year old is with a new toy on Xmas. I was an avid player on casual games on the PC and this is the perfect game For the DS. One of the best things about it apart from the graphics and dual player concept is how good it is on value for money. All Games ... ...is worth the money. Not only can you play each level twice in very different ways but for each Indian film there are loads of levels. What is satisfying to see is that the levels are not silly little ones that over as soon as possible. I find that I need to play a level two or three times, to find the little hidden areas that can be missed so easily. My favourite part was when I found out that you can blow onto the DS to blow out candles on the game. ...

Madagascar the film comes to the DS - probably best it didn't!
Advantages: MIght be fun for kids for a while Disadvantages: If you're going to use a licence for a film kids use, they deserve a better game
Madagascar is a game for the Nintendo DS which is based on the film of the same name, and involves guiding numerous animals around New York. The plot of the game is to take control of four different animal characters, a lion called Alex, a zebra called Marty, a hippo called Gloria and a giraffe called Melman. Whilst learning to control these animals, the player has to navigate their way around New York. Each of the animals has individual skills, ... ...of the four characters who is able to swim. The game is quite easy to play, and there are various different levels, some which involve using the stylus which are quite self-intuitive and this different approach to the levels does keep the interest in the game going. In general however the game is a platform game, and is quite playable although is a little clunky in places. It can be frustrating as well to try to make platform jumps which go off the ...

Lego Batman: Long live the Lego saga (Lego Batman: The Videogame
Advantages: Playing Batman defeating the villains Disadvantages: The Story line could be more consistent
...who have not played the Lego platform games before as it is easy to get to grips with how to play and getting robin to display his daredevil tightrope walking, and batman flying across the Gotham rooftops. Like other Lego platform games you need to play each level twice first as batman and robin and the next with a combination of characters, where you can get access to even more areas of the level. What added to my excitement as I was playing is ... ...on the sofa. Once again Lego has hit the spot, turning classic films into great platform games with a twist. As usual Lego games are great value for money, as you know that you are getting access to great number of levels and also the mini games which can be addicting when you just want a quick 20 minute play. Overall this is a good quality game which can be played over and over and not get bored. I give it the thumbs up, bring on the batmobile. ...

Donkey Kong comes to the Nintendo DS!
Advantages: Fun to play, lots of levels, challenging Disadvantages: Can be a bit too difficult, and gets frustrating
...the latest in the Nintendo's Donkey Kong series. This game is a generally vertical scrolling platform game, where you have to swing between ledges using the Left and Right buttons on the console. It's a simple idea, and you have the advabtage of being able to fire Diddy Kong up to help you in your quest. The game has more controls and features such as this, but this primarily is how you get through the game, with the other requirement of killing ... ...game to get into, and kids would be able to pick up and play the game almost straightaway as there is an easy to work through tutorial at the beginning. However, it is also a very challenging game, there are large levels, and the later levels are very hard, and will use up many of the lives which you had carefully saved up from the earlier levels. Indeed, if you're not a great games player, then you might find that the later levels are just too difficult. ...
