-Overview- The Nintendo DS Lite is the 2nd version of the new handheld games console from Nintendo. This console is not just a fancy Gameboy, however. It offers many differences to other handhelds.
-Games- The range of games is fairly limited to what I call 'kiddie' games - not necessarily just for the kids, but you'll be hard-pressed to find a hardcore shoot-em-up on here. The games are mostly either platform (Super Mario, Princess Peach), puzzler (Dr. K's Brain Training) or 'specific' (Trauma Center, Ace Attorney). There also a few others like Nintendogs and The Sims, although I haven't tried any like that yet.
The games are tiny 'cartridges', like mini versions of the Gameboy games, or extra-mini versions of the old Super Nintendo console, if you like :)
-Controls- The obvious appeal of this console comes from the touch screen. It really is excellent, and makes the DS worth the money. It is accurate, generally easy to control and the screen doesn't scratch permanently (you do get temporary scratches, but these rub off easily). There is a handy holder for the stylus on the side so it'll be quite difficult to lose it. There is also a D-Pad and four buttons for non-touch screen games, which are clear and easy to use.
Another control is the microphone - I have only used this for 'blowing' games, not 'talking' games, however my experience of it is negative. It doesn't work, and you'll give yourself a nasty headache trying to blow into it anyway.
-Extras- The range of extras are things like an alarm, a Wi-Fi chatroom and a customisable profile. You can also change the colour of the start-up screen to suit your tastes. These extras are neat, but nothing to write home about. You'll be spending too much time actually playing the games, anyway.
-Looks- There's no doubt the DS Lite is a nice looking console. I have the White, and it is very sleek and easy to carry around with you. The games cases are actually the awkward thing, particularly if you want to carry more than one, as you can always carry one around actually in the slot.
-Overview- I give the DS five stars as it is one of the best consoles I have ever used, and I've played on a lot :) It looks nice, the games are cute and the touch screen is an original concept.

(+) Plenty of storage space, for media. Good Games, Great for partys, with singstar. Very Reliable. (-) Sometimes the optical drive, breaks; but not very likely, my 60gb still working after 2 1/2 years.
