After already owning a PSP I felt I had all the handheld gaming I needed however many of my peers owned Nintendo DS' so I thought I would buy one in conjuction with the release of Pokemon Diamond after being a big fan of the series and I liked the potential of the DS. The main reason for the DS' success has been marketing as well as affordability and game selection. The marketing campaign which is very popular with nintendo is connectivity which is extremely true with 98% of all DS games using connectivity around the world, with friends and even with a Nintendo Wii. The selection of games for the DS are great for both old and young with many ideas from looking after a pet dog to testing your brain and now you can play a guitar on it. However is you are critical on graphics then the DS is not a great console for that as only one game has reached top quality graphics and that is New Super Mario Bros. But the most facinating part of the DS is what the name actually means: a dual screen console one of them being a touch sensitive screen. This helps maximises fun and has given more ideas for games however as this is a touch sensitive membrane ontop if anything gets inbetween it can render the screen useless until clean The Nintendo DS is overall a great handheld with a large selection of games fo ranyone to enjoy and a really affordable price.
