I had wanted a DS for a long time, and when I received on for my birthday this year was instantly afraid it was going to be a novelty buy. It's a bit large to be classed as a truly "pocket" console like the gameboy advance or sp. The games range is limited, and the games themselves range from bland film spin offs to the very abstract and unique such as Animal Crossing or Harvest Moon.

The games range does expand with the extra slot allowing the use of game boy and game boy advance games, making this Nintendo next gen portable console throughly backwards compatible.

I am glad I stuck with this machine as I am now thourougly addicted. Classics such as Super Monkey Ball trasfer superbly onto this platform, and the stylus brings a new dimension to many familiar favourited such as Ray-Man. Have a go, even if its on someone elses. You will be hooked!
