Do you ever notice how consoles are great one minute and then seem obsolete the next? Well i think this one will prevail!!!!
The nintendo DS lite is a handheld console which comes in a variety of colours. It is a dual screen handheld with the bottom screen being a touchscreen. When it first arrived you could only get it in black or white. But it now comes in a wide variety of colours including:- pink red light blue green
What does it come with? When you first buy the console you get the following:- console itself; power/charging adapter; stylus; instruction manual.
How much does it cost? The DS lite console on its own retails at £99.99. But if you shop around you can usually get what they call a 'bundle'. This is a package deal in which you can get the console and everything that i stated above, but you can also get games with it or an accessory pack. Bundles are price between £109-130 usually, and its a good idea if you are buying it as a present.
Of course you can buy all the games separately, games retail at between £15-30 each depending on when the game was released, older games do tend to be a bit cheaper, however i do think that the DS games are a bit overpriced fro what they are. Although you can get some pretty goo games for the console. For example:- brain training big brain academy trauma centre nintendogs animal crossing the legend of Zelda and many more...............
You can also buy accessory packs separately, these usually contain and carry case, protective screen covers, a protective cover for the console itslef, spare styluses and ds game cartridge cases. The accessory kits also come in a range of colours and are usually priced at around £16-25 depending on where you purchase it from.
Where can it be purchased? You can purchase the console, games and accessories at the following stores:- Game Gamestation Argos Zavvi HMV plus many other stores. They can also be purchased online.
How good is the battery? The battery life on these consoles are pretty good actually. It will usually last about 5-7 hours depending on usage, obviously the more you play it the more it will need recharging!! Also it only takes a couple of hours to charges up.
Warranties/guaruntees You get a one year manufacturers warranty with the console when you purchase it. If you wish to take out extra insurance on it you could, but to be honest i don't know anyone who has ever had any major problems with thier DS.
Features Well as i previously said it has 2 screens one of which is a touch screen and both of which are colour. It has 2 game slots. One for ds games and the other is for gameboy advance games so you can also play those on it. The buttons are hardwearing as is the screen, and the stylus has its own little slot in the bottom of the console. It also has a wifi ability, which means that if you connect it to a wireless network you can play your games online with people you know or just random other people.
Graphics and sound. Both of these are good. The gaphics are clear and not too pixelated either. Sound is good and there is a sound control on the front of the console.
Ease of use. I would personally say that it is very easy to use, it is designed so that actual kids and big kids(adults who still want to be kids!!!) can use it with ease. The manual is easy to understand, and contains all the info you need to get yourslef started with the console.
Overall conclusion. In conclusion this is a great console, the only downside is that even though it has now been on the market for a couple of years the price hasn't really dropped, so to me its a bit pricy but if youlike handheld consoles then this would definately be a good buy! I would recommend to all!
thanks for reading xx

(+) Plenty of storage space, for media. Good Games, Great for partys, with singstar. Very Reliable. (-) Sometimes the optical drive, breaks; but not very likely, my 60gb still working after 2 1/2 years.
