This is the latest handheld console by Nintendo, the DSi.
I got my DSi on April 3rd, the first day that it came to the UK. It is a very good console, and I would recommend it to many people, but was it was worth £50 more than the DS lite?
There is now an SD card slot, which you can put your DSi pictures onto, and put music onto to play with.
One of the most prominently displayed new features was the DSi camera, it is only 0.3 megapixels, and normally, the less megapixels, people think the worse quality colour as well. However this isn't true with the DSi, I agree the picture quality isn't the best, but the colour quality, especially when in a well lit area, so good that I think you forget that it is only 0.3 megapixels.
There is also a picture editing software. However this is only available for the pictures you take with the DSi, some of these features are morphing: dragging your face and surroundings around you around, doodle: draw all over your pictures, colourpad: tap a certain colour with the DSi stylus to change that colour to a different one. In total there are 11 lenses for the camera.
There is now an SD card slot, which you can put your DSi pictures onto, and put music onto to play with.
There is now DSi sound, this is where you can record your voice and play with it with many different speeds, pitches and effects. You can also put AAC file music onto an SD card and insert it into the SD card slot, and do similar things with your music as you can do with your voice recordings. However due to the DSi only supporting AAC file music, you will have to convert your music into AAC files. I use iTunes for my music, and converting it into an AAC file is as simple for me as right hand mouse clicking on it and clicking convert to AAC, you then copy the file to the SD card, put the card into the DSi and then on DSi Music, your music will be waiting for you.
Another big change is the DSi shop, this is the DSi's version of the Wii shop channel. It is regularly updated, and new games and applications.
There are other smaller changes: both screens are 0.25 inches bigger, the power button is no longer a slider but is on the inside, the DSi menu is now a list of the DSi's applications, you can tap the power button to return from any game or application to the DSi menu, there is a rainbow pen for pictochat, they have done away with the gameboy advance cartridge slot to add an SD card slot, and many other smaller changes.
Although the DSi is portrayed in the DSi advert as being able to "enjoy the rich library of Nintendo DS games", however I beg to differ, one of the games I have been looking forward to having for a while was "Professor Leyton and the Curious Village" I purchased it off of eBay but when I tried it in my DSi it didn't work, then I tried it in my friends DS lite and it worked perfectly. Now I don't know if this was just because it was I had bought a dodgy one form eBay or if it is the game. All I'm saying is when you buy games after you purchase the DSi, make sure there aredefinately compatible with the DSi.
So would I recommend this to anyone? To be honest only if you can get it for cheaper than £150. It is a great system and all but I managed to get a deal at GAME, I traded in my decent condition DSi and two games for a £100 DSi card, and ended up purchasing my DSi for £50. However I don't know if that was only a DSi preorder offer. However there are bound to be more offers, if not go to a site like eBay and you can find DSi's for prices cheaper than £150. This I feel is the only way to go with purchasing your DSi.

(+) Plenty of storage space, for media. Good Games, Great for partys, with singstar. Very Reliable. (-) Sometimes the optical drive, breaks; but not very likely, my 60gb still working after 2 1/2 years.
