The Nintendo DSi is the third generation of the Nintendo DS handheld gaming console series.
HAS ANYTHING GONE?
The GBA slot has gone so you can't play your Game Boy Advance games on the DSi, but I won't miss this feature too much! However, with this feature gone, you can only play 99% of DS games, 99% because for the DS version of Guitar Hero, you need the GBA slot.
NEW FEATURES
Screen Length: Now 3.25 inches long! Sound is better: Now your sound is clearer and louder. Better buttons: The buttons have improved.
Some people may be thinking, "Well, these features sound great but is the console itself good?" The answer is yes.
GRAPHICS
I find the graphics on the Nintendo DSi amazing. They look better then the graphics on some laptop screens. I think they are brilliant.
SOUND
As I've said, the sound has improved and I really mean it! It's more amazing then some surround sound systems! All the games when compared to the sound quality on the normal DS, to the sound on the DSi, DSi stands out better!
RANGE OF EXTRA FEATURES
WIRELESS On the original DS, there are wireless features which are great for sending your friends Pokémon, training your brains together or just sending each other doodles. WI-FI The original DS also had Wi-Fi features on some games like Animal Crossing where you can visit other people's towns. Now you can download DSiWare which is exclusively for Nintendo DSi users. Some DSiWare is free like the internet browser, there's no longer a game cartridge that you need to buy to access the internet. CAMERA The DSi comes with two 0.3 megapixel cameras, (one on the front, and one on the inside) this may sound incredably low. But what great quality the photos come out as! It can also recognise human faces, so you can mess up your friends faces! SOUND You can laugh yourself stupid with the sound features! You say something into the machine, and then you can play it in reverse, make the sound higher, lower, faster or slower! You can even make it sound like you're in a tunnel! Don't forget that you can insert an SD Card into a slot with your favourite tracks on it, and mess about with those too!
VALUE FOR MONEY
I brought this game from GAME for £149.99, and it came with the DS game Zoo Keeper. I think that this is fantastic value for money!
EASE OF USE
I find the Nintendo DSi very easy to use, you can easily turn the DSi on and off, get to a feature quickly and it's so simple!
INSTRUCTION MANUAL
The instruction manual is really helpful according to me! It includes the helpline number and the manual can really help you when you're stuck.
Nintendo helped me out here so much! My download for WarioWare: Snapped! (DSiWare) had suddenly stopped in the middle of it. They helped me here. Just needed to download it again! I wouldn't be charged!
OVERALL
The Nintendo DSi is packed with new features, however you need Wi-Fi to get the most out of it.
