My brother had a gameboy but got a gameboy colour for his birthday, i was given his gameboy the next month for my bithday, i got one game with it and that was the only original gameboy game i own to date.
At the time it was a great console what with its non-colour screen not very good mono speaker. The gameboy was replaced by the gameboy color which was much better than the original gameboy
The console took four AA battereies and there wasn't an indication as to when they were about to run out so whilst you were in the middle of a game it would just die on you although you could get an AC adapter for it.
I don't think that there will be many people who are reading this review with the intent to buy a Gameboy but for those who are don't get one, it was good at the time but it isn't good any more, get yourself a Ds lite instead.
