The NES was the first machine I owned as a child, and so I have very fond memories of it. The system looks like a breeze block (in those days they didn't care for looks) and the front loading mechanism is great... it feels like a toaster :) The controller is really a block, and I can imagine it hurting during prolonged periods of play. However, the best thing about the NES is it's price - they are so damn cheap! And you can get the games off of eBay for about £5 each... so many classic games for such a brilliant price.

The only downside is the fact taht the reading head can get worn out over time and so it can take a lot of work to get a game going, but you can buy replacement ones off eBay again.
