In order to play games online with the Broadband Adapter, you will need an ethernet cable with an RJ45 connector (I have acquired and provided an image at the bottom of the review). Chances are that you will already have this cable in your existing DSL or cable modem connection to your PC. If you do, you will effortlessly need to remove this cable from the back of your PC and plug it into the Broadband Adapter to play Nintendo GameCube games online. There are some instances in that some DSL or cable modems do not use an ethernet cable, but instead use a USB connector. However, the Nintendo GameCube Broadband Adapter is not compatible with USB connectors. ...Just recently bought a wii for myself and my family which is so much fun and was looking on the nintendo internet site which explained to me all the extra stuff you can get if you connect you wii to the web. Theirs me thinking all i could do was play multiplayer games if i connected the wii to the web. as i do not have wireless in my house ( wii has wifi) i have to connect the wii via a LAN cable (usb to ethernet) this adaptor allows me to do this so i can connect to the web via cable. this is better as more reliable and faster. when you are online you will be able to perform system update, download extras for your wii, download games and even download demos for your Nintendo DS. this is very handy if you do not have wireless connections, slight expensive for what it is but does a good job.... ...Works well once set up, however every time I start Windows I have to use the Repair feature before I can connect with this. I thought it may of been my WiFi network but it only happened with this adaptor. Then one day it just stopped working. Compared to other USB adaptors ive had this is very poor. Not worth it, it might be cheap but youll be needing another in a few months, becuase it is too unreliable to be of any decent use. I recommend getting a netgear adaptor, never had any problems with them. I now dont buy Belkin products, every one Ive had has gone wrong at some point.
