Hey there! I'm going to be reviewing the Nintendo Wii as it's one of my favourites systems at the moment.
Now, the Nintendo Wii is very cheap for a great console ($250/£180) compaired to the other consoles like the PS3 and the Xbox, but I won't be getting into much detail about that.
I received my Nintendo Wii about a week after Christmas being in the right place at the right time, anyway, I shall crack on to the review. =P
It's obvious that Nintendo have carried on the sleek look to the Nintendo Wii from the DS lite which is good. The Nintendo Wii is small, eye catching and very beautiful to look at! It was much smaller than I thought it would be, it's also very light! As most of you know, the Nintendo Wii console sits in the grey stand which adds contrast to the design.
There is a blue light that surrounds the disc entrance, this only lights up when you turn the console on (the light lasts for about 5 seconds at most) and when you have recieved mail. In my opinion this is the coolest part of the design. Heh.
Now, the controllers. 1 Wiimote (Or Wii remote, call it whatever you wish)
and 1 nunchuck. When I first got my hands on both of the controllers they fitted be comfortably in my hands, the Wiimote was definatly smaller than I thought it would be. But it's very comfortable nevertheless. I would highly recommend that you wear the wrist strap at all times, I didn't wear it once while playing wii bowling, it slipped out of my hand and fortunately hit the sofa. But it could easily slip out of your hand and hit your TV or any other object; so please wear the wrist strap if you get or have the Wii.
The controllers have the same sleek and light feeling like the console itself has, you can turn the console on with the Wiimote and whenever you want to go to the Wii menu you don't have to go through the trouble of going to your console to reset the system, all you have to do it press the small button in the middle of the Wiimote which has the small house on it. Both of the Controllers are motion sensitive and you have to be within the distance of about 3-5 metres, the Wiimote has infered so you can aim at stuff on some games (Like Red steel and Zelda: Twilight princess) which makes it quite realistic. There is also a speaker on the Wiimote where sounds come out, which makes you feel like you are partly there. There are some games which don't require the use of the Nunchuck, there is a slot at the back end of the Wiimote where you clip in and take out the Nunchuck.
Now the sensor bar! You can put the sensor bar on the top or bottom of your TV, this will detect your controller which allows you to play games on your Wii. If your Sensor bar just strangely stops working, putting two candles at both sides of the sensor bar apparently works. But for safety reasons, I wouldn't recommend it.
A small stand for the sensor bar comes with the Wii so that the sensor bar doesn't slip at the back of your TV or slip onto the floor which could damage it.
Every console comes with "Wii sports" to basically help you get used to the controls, on some games getting used to the controls can take a bit of time. But once you get the hang of things you can really get into the game. Wii sports includes the following games:
On this game you can take the fitness test where it predicts what your fitness age is. It's not dead accurate, but it's a lot of fun. The Fitness test was made for adults, but children can also enjoy doing the test.
I myself enjoyed the Wii sports game, my fitness age at the moment is 38, but it was better than my other fitness age which was 74! Haha. The controls for this game were very easy for me and I'm sure that they are easy for everyone else aswell. =]
The Wii channel. The Wii channel starts out with the game channel, where the game you insert into the disc slot shows up, a Mii channel where you can create up to 100 miis, a photo channel where you can put your photos from a SD card in. If you have wireless internet you can also access the Wii shop channel where you can buy Virtual console games (You have to buy the Virtual controller separately.) with wii points, the virtual console games include the great old games that were made for the SNES, NES and the other great Nintendo systems, you can also download Internet from the Wii shop channel. Nintendo are constantly adding new channels, so look out!
I nearly forgot what the buttons the Console itself has! The buttons right next to the disc slot is the Power button, the reset button and the eject button. There is a small part of the Console where you can open up to plug in your SD cards and 4 gamecube controllers to play gamecube games. You also have all of the usual power slots at the back of the console to get your Nintendo Wii powerd up and ready to go! The whole set up is simple and easy, it took me about 5 minutes to set mine up and I didn't even look at the instruction manuals. XD
Last but not least, the graphics. Okay, I have to admit (Even as a Nintendo Wii lover) that the graphics were a bit too much like the Gamecube's graphics, I did expect them to be a little bit better. But I'm not really fussed that much over graphics.
If I've forgotten anything please leave me a comment and I'll add it to this review ASAP.
Thank you for reading!

(+) i don't think their is one unless you wanna save on the electricity bill a tiny percentage. (-) There's really not much point to it. but i still love playstation!
Another good review. Could have had a little more info for an E but deffinately enough there for a VH. I liked how you compared it to other consoles. Wen thinking about getting a console folk always want to know why they should chose Nintendo over Microsoft and stuff.
