I picked up a Wii on the launch date, expecting a brilliant console, that is new, and different to the other next-gens. And i got what i wanted.
The Wii is part of the next-gen consoles, including the Xbox 360 and the PS3. The graphics aren't brilliant like the other 2 consoles, but who wants a video game to be realistic. It's a video GAME, not video REALITY. The motion-sensitivity was the most eagerly anticipated feature of the Wii, swing your arm to mirror Links movements on the Legend of Zelda, bowl, play tennis, baseball, boxing and golf on Wii Sports, which is included with the console, for instant fun, and experience brilliant accuracy and thrilling sword fights with the FPS Red Steel, at first, i thought that the wii motion-sensitivity would be a little off-timing, but it definitely isn't, i used to swing early in baseball thinking that the Wii would take a short time to pick it up, but as soons as you swing, your own Wii character (your Mii, which you create), swings at exactly the same time as you, it is brilliant
Most people would think that the Wii is just for kids, with most of the games out being made for children, but it's far from that, you can pick up much more mature games (Red Steel, Godfather), and it has many more features which would appeal to the older buyer. You can view all of the weather conditions all over the world, and all of the latest news all over the world. Recently, the new Wii Opera browser was released which boasts an incredibly fast loading rate and easy navigation, besides when you are putting in letters (waiting for a developer to create a Wii keyboard and mouse).
The Nintendo company had some of the best gaming titles in the past, and thanks to the Virtual Console on the Wii, you can download them straight onto your Wii, imagine playing Zelda - Ocarina of Time for the Nintendo64 on your Wii, well it is now possible. The only downside to the virtual console is that you have to buy either a Classic Controller (£14.99) or use an old Gamecube controller, and to buy the games, you have to purchase a points card as well.
The Wii has many brilliant 'channels', with the photo channel, you can use an SD card to display your photos on your television screen, you can create your own personal avatar on the Wii channel, and there are new channels to come, one of the most recent channels added was the 'everybody votes' channel, which i had to say disappoints me, all you do is vote, it's really not sticking to Nintendo's idea of fun.
The Wii is definately worth the £179.99 retail price. It is much cheaper than other consoles, and it is much funner, even though i have yet to play the PS3. Also, Wii games are cheaper to produce and sell than PS3 or 360, so you would get most Wii games about £10/£15 cheaper than the other next-gen console games.
There are a few downsides of the Wii, when i am browsing the internet channel, my cursor becomes jittery, whether it is my sensor bar, or if i need to adjust my sensitivity, im not sure. One of the main let-downs is the online play feature of the Wii, the first online game coming out is Mario Strikers Charged, released in late May, and there is also a lack of popular titles such as the GTA series.
There is still great titles coming out this year for the Wii though, like Super Smash Bros: Brawl, Super Mario Galaxy and the next title in the Animal Crossing series should be released in September.
The graphics are definately not as good as the PS3 or 360. The best graphics for the Wii i have seen have been on Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and they still amazed me, they were better graphics than on the PS2 or Gamecube, no matter what everyone else has been saying.
Before you buy a next gen console, i advise you thoroughly research each one, keeping in mind what you like the best about your console, and remember, don't listen to fanboys.
How helpful would this review be to a person making a buying decision? Rating guidelines
(+) Plenty of storage space, for media. Good Games, Great for partys, with singstar. Very Reliable. (-) Sometimes the optical drive, breaks; but not very likely, my 60gb still working after 2 1/2 years.
I've just looked over it and it is hard to read, my next reviews will be more spread out. Thanks for the comments and suggestions.

Yeah, it's a very good review - though spread it out a little and it would be much easier to read.
