I have had this console since it came out in December in the UK. I have been very happy with it. The machine it self is very small compared to the the other current consoles available. It is currently only available in White with a Grey stand which give it a nice clean and simple look.
It is very easy to set up took me about 5-10 minutes using the instruction that come with it. The only difference from setting up the Wii and any other console is you get a sensor bar which needs to be placed either on the top or bottom of the television so that the Wii controller called the 'Wiimote' can tell whereabouts on the screen you are pointing at.
As you have probably gathered from skimming through the majority of reviews on the Wii. It is a fun console that attracts not only your average computer game fan but also people who have not been interested in playing games before. Due mainly to the innovative control scheme. As the wireless Wiimote allows you to interact with the screen by simple holding the Wiimote like a TV remote control and the sensor bar picks up the movements you make with it. Meaning it can be used like a Baseball bat, sword, steering wheel etc basically anything the imagination of the games developers can come up with.
My Mum who is in her 40's is now a big Wii fan and will often be wanting games of Wii sports or her current personal favorite of 'Cow Racing' as she calls it on Wii play.
The Wii also has games for the more serious gamer such as Zelda Twilight Princess, Red Steel, The Godfather Blackhand edition and my current personal favorite 'Excite Truck' to name just a few which all make good and different use of the Wiimote control method.
The Wii can also be taking online as it has built in Wireless capabilities which if you following the instruction took me about 10 minutes to setup with my BT wireless router. It is good fun to be able to surf the web on your TV although it is really more a novelty as there is no keyboard so it can be quite tiresome typing using the on screen keyboard and Wiimote.
The main benefits of setting up the online capabilities is that you can download any Firmware updates Nintendo release which add features features such as parental conrols. Also it gives you use of the Wii Channels such as Wii Shop which gives you access to the virtual console and Wii News and Wii Weather.
Reliability wise I have played roughly about 500 hours (YesI have too much free time!) and have not had any problems.
Overall I would certainly recommend the Wii to any computer game fan or anyone who is looking to get into gaming and who's been intrigued by the Wiimote.

(+) Plenty of storage space, for media. Good Games, Great for partys, with singstar. Very Reliable. (-) Sometimes the optical drive, breaks; but not very likely, my 60gb still working after 2 1/2 years.
