The Nintendo Wii is a completely revolutionary games console, so revolutionary that when it comes to trying to name the best console out there I tend to only compare the PS3 and the Xbox 360, beacuse I think the Wii is in a class of it's own. The technology it uses is groundbreaking, and instead of focusing on impressive graphic capabailities like it's competitiors, it focuses on gameplay.

The Wii uses wireless controls that are more like a TV remote than the conventional handheld gamepads with buttons, control sticks and directinal pads used by the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

The disadvantages however are that it lacks the same graphical prowess as other gaming consoles and not being as powerful as them, but that doesn't concern the creators as they believe the main purpose of the Wii is for the customer to just have fun!

The Wii box includes everything you need to hook the system up to a standard television: the Wii console, a wireless controller with nunchuk adaptor, the sensor bar, a cradle (for mounting the console vertically), the Wii's modestly sized power adaptor, and a set of composite AV cables. Unfortunately, composite cables don't support the Wii's top progressive-scan resolution of 576p, so HD Ready TV owners will want to also purchase a set of Wii component cables (sold separately).

The Wii games that you can purchase are really exciting, including mario go karts, Wii sports that actually comes with the Wii and has on it boxing, tennis, bowling, baseball and golf, Wii Play and also many of the main games that you can also get with the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 like the new James Bond game and Pro Evolution Soccer 2009. You can also get extra accessories for the Wii like laser guns which cost around £15 each and accompany shooting games excellently.

Possibly the most well known Wii game of all is the Wii Fit, which is very hard to get a hold of due to it's huge popularity and waiting lists. It is excellent as you can find out how healthy you are via your bodyfat percentage etc.

The online gameplay isn't brilliant and is considerably weak compared to the Playstation 3 Live and Xbox Live systems.
