**Price**
I bought my DH this game with a pink Nintendo DS for £109.99, (He he, yes I am that cruel… Obviously I wanted the pink ... ...fivers (let me know if you would like referring). I also received a 20% discount from the friendly people at HMV (expect to wait three weeks for delivery though). The game retails at £29.99 in most stores, I haven't seen any cheaper prices of any of the Nintendogs games yet. If anyone has a bargain price, let me know and I will add this in.
**The Game plan**
Firstly you decide which breed of puppy you would like, with Nintendogs Dachsund & Friends ...

Advantages: Amazingly realistic and detailed virtual pets. Disadvantages: Better in short bursts.
Nintendogs was going to be a hit from the start. It took a leap out of the book from the well known Tamagotchi that have proved hugley popular. Nintendogs aimed to expand on this idea, and with the touch screen and microphone built into the DS you just know that this is going to be something special. But what you probobly want to know is whether this would be the right game for you. Read on.

Advantages: loads to do, like a real pet, Disadvantages: None
Although I own the Dachshund version of this game, they're all the same apart from the breeds of dog available - this Dachshund version was first to be released along with the Labrador and Chihuahua versions, and more recently a Dalmation version has been released. The european release date for the first three to be released was October 7th 2005.
This is a simulation game where you can choose and name a dog of your choice. When you first start, ... ...buy one puppy. The puppies never grow, so they remain adorable! To earn money you train your dog for agility trials, obedience trials and disc competitions where you get money if your dog places third, second or third. With the money you save up, you can buy more dogs, re-decorate your home or buy toys, food, water, milk, shampoo etc. The maximum number of dogs you can have at home is three but you can own more by keeping some in the Dog Hotel for ...

Portable Puppies! Review ofNintendogs: Dachshund and Friends (NDS)by
ghostchoir
Advantages: Fun game, realistic, highly interactive, adorable! Disadvantages: Very restrictive
I wasn't too sure about Nintendogs when I first heard about it, and hadn't really had any intentions of buying it. However, desiring a pink DS (which - here at least - you must buy with Nintendogs to recieve) I picked it up and was immediatley surprised with the quality of the game. Storyline: The idea behind Nintendogs is very simple. Purchase a puppy and look after it. And that's really it! Nintendogs gives you a great look into how it is to look ... ...training, and competitions. The game begins with a choice of 6 breeds for you to choose from. Each game begins with 6 different dogs, but with the Dachshund version your options are the beagle, shih tzu, siberian husky, golden retriever, pug, and of course, the daschund. Though you are restricted to these breeds at first, over time you can unlock the other 12 breeds, including popular choices such as the chihauhua, german shepherd dog, yorkshire ...

Real Nintendogs Review ofNintendogs: Dachshund and Friends (NDS)by
dramaprincess
Advantages: They are just like real dogs, except without the hard work Disadvantages: Sometimes it doesn't recognise your voice
Dachshund & Friends is just as cute and fun as having your own dog, except once you get bored of them you don't need to leave it up to someone else to look after the dogs.
In Dachshund & Friends you get to choose from Pugs, Miniature Dachshunds, Beagles, Shih Tzus, Siberian Huskys and Golden Retrievers. You can then train and care for them using the touch screen and also giving them commands, which can get a bit frustrating if it doesn't recognise ... ...go to the kennels and choose which breed you want and within each, the pups vary slightly and have their own characteristics. Once you have chosen which one you want and have taken the dog home, it needs to get used to your voice. So after spending a while getting it used to you (which really does take a while) you finally get to start exploring with him or her.
Through careful training, you can teach you dog to perform a variety of tricks. Unfortunately ...
