Review of Nissan Almera 1.4

A good family car

Advantages: Good value for money
Disadvantages: A bit noisy

...I finally settled on the Nissan Almera 2.2 DI. It's a nice size,not too big nor too small. It's comfortable and well fitted out inside, and with a 2.2 engine it pulls well and cruises nicely at 70 -80mph. Being diesel it's economical as well, although the engine does sound a bit noisy - the curse of the diesel. Surprisingly, the emissions are low - 150, so not only is it a "green" vehicle, the road tax is cheaper as well. It came with a full 3 ...

Nissan almera dangerous

Advantages: none i can think of. I've had it with Nissan.
Disadvantages: dangerous

...it's supposed to be reliable. Nissan almeras has a Renault "timing chain" in them wich causes the engine to stall without a warning. Imagine if your Nissan stopped while overtaking! Well, that happened to me: the engine cut off and there was no power even to switch indicators on. When I checked Nissan website I found out that there is a recall for this type of fault but for some reason not all vins are included. Mine wasn't included. Fixing it ...

Review of Nissan Almera 1.5 16v Hatchback

Standard Almera features with a bit more power...

Advantages: Driver comfort, general ease of driving
Disadvantages: A little cramped in the back if you have longer legs!

As always, Nissan have appealed to the safety-conscious driver, but this engine size means that you feel a bit less staid. It's great knowing you can put your foot down and pull past traffic even though you're driving a car that is often thought of as a "woman's car". There's plenty of space in the front for drivers (and passengers) with longer legs, although it can bit a little cramped in the back. However, the boot area is usefully large. This ...
