Maximum Value For Money With A Maxima (UPDATED)

Advantages: Superb value for money. Luxury motoring at minimal cost.
Disadvantages: HUGE depreciation from new.

achieved with the minimum of fuss and bother from the 5-speed manual gearbox, which is precise and crisp. ~ ~ Economy wise I am achieving around the 25mpg mark about town, which rises to about 40mpg at a steady 56mph. (but who wants to drive a car like this at a steady 56mph??) So I suppose an average of about the 30mpg figure would be about right, which is truly excellent for a car of this size and weight. Talking about weight, this is a heavy car, weighing in at a massive 1335kg, but the power steering makes short shift of this, and it?s as easy to handle as a much smaller vehicle. And the powerful ABS (anti-lock) power assisted brakes will stop you on an old sixpence. (or new 5 cents) This model of Maxima also boasts Nissan?s new multi link beam suspension on the rear. This means that the ride is somewhat firmer than on the older model ...

Review of Nissan Maxima QX 2.0

Nissan Maxima QX 3.0 SE+ 2001 (51)

Advantages: Superbly engineered and equipped luxury Nissan flagship. Overlooked and undervalued
Disadvantages: Some spares elusive and costly, economy not too hot

If you can manage to tear off your BMW/Merc/Lexus rose coloured blinkers for a few seconds and you are looking for a simply awesome second hand luxury bargain may I commend this Nissan flagship which cannot be imported into the USA quick enough but never got past first base with the bigoted UK buying public. Its a Nissan. It doesn't go wrong. Service intervals are 9000 miles and if you can find a new-shape model 2000-2002 with full nissan sh GRAB IT GRATEFULLY - You will have unearthed a gem . £30,000+ when new with all the gismos known to driving man this superb piece of craftmanship is a pleasure to own and drive. It's depreciation has been rapid, it's value is now fantastic. IF you can find one it will have been tenderly driven by a tidy non-smoking businessman in his 50s or 60s who treats it with the great respect he ...

Review of Nissan Maxima QX 3.0

Drive One And You Will Understand

Advantages: Comfort, performance and spesification
Disadvantages: Bad fuel economy

~ ~ The flagship of the Nissan fleet, the Nissan Maxima carries that flag with pride. This is an outstanding car in all departments, and an absolute joy to drive. ~ ~ I am a taxi-driver in Dublin, Ireland, and must admit to a certain amount of positive bias when it comes to Nissan, as I have driven this marque ever since I began driving taxis some six years ago. ~ ~ I bought my 1990 Maxima in the summer of 1997 with just over 100,000 miles on the clock. It was a pure impulse buy. I had gone into the main Nissan dealer to buy a part for my existing car, and there she was sitting in the forecourt. I knew one of the salesmen quite well, and as I had always admired the Maxima from afar, I asked him if I could take it out for a test drive, purely out of curiosity, and with no real intention of purchasing. He had taken it in that ...
