Very good car for new drivers, cheap to run, good fuel economy, low insurance and tax, very reliable. When I got my driving licence, on my driving instructor's recommendation I bought a Nissan... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap to run, well behaved, easy to park!

I have been the proud owner of a second hand used Micra 1.0 (five door) for the past six months. It was regularly serviced by a main Nissan dealership by the previous owner. The exterior was in marvellous condition for its age, and even with little upkeep it is still is in excellent condition. Most who know me are more than aware of how much I love my car, I like nothing better than to go for a zoom down country roads in this car. Unlike most Micras mine is most comfortable when purring along at motorway speeds. I will go into the pros and cons of the Micra later on, initially lets get the ... more

Advantages Advantages Reliable, fairly cheap to run

Disadvantages Disadvantages Ugly, no fun to drive, heavy steering, expensive dealer servicing

This is my first review on Ciao, so to get into the swing of things I thought I would unburden myself about my Nissan Micra. I currently commute 50 miles per day, mainly on a dual carriageway and the M25. My mode of transport for this daily delight is a Micra 1 litre Persuasion “special edition”, although I have never worked out how it differs from a normal Equation model except for the badge on the boot, or what is supposed to be special about it. My wife and I bought the car for her 5 years ago when she was commuting 6 miles a day through town traffic and for that purpose it was ... more

Advantages Advantages cheap to run, easy to drive, cheap to buy.

Disadvantages Disadvantages It's a basic brum, the steering becomes heavy when the car is full and older cars will develop fau

I bought my 1992 Nissan Micra 18 months ago because I'd been driving a newer, more expensive car that I could no longer afford because insurance and petrol costs were just too high. I needed a basic, reliable and cheap car on a very modest budget of £600, so I logged onto Autotrader and started looking at cars… I decided that a Nisan Micra would probably suit me, because I’d read that they never break and that they are cheap to run. So I arranged to see six different Micras that were all different ages, with different mileages recorded on the clock. The cars really did vary in condition - one ... more

Advantages Advantages Cost, Reliability, small car performance, CVT Automatic Transmisson

Disadvantages Disadvantages Higher running cost than Manual Tansmission Model

I bought a second hand used Micra 1.0 two door/hatch saloon at the beginning of 2003. Colour Red , on a ‘P’ plate, with 34,000 miles on the clock; well looked after by its previous owners (2), and regularly serviced by a main Nissan dealership. The bodywork was in super condition for its age with no visible signs of deterioration, such as rust marks. My Micra has a one litre (998cc) engine with CVT (automatic transmission) rather than the more popular traditional manual gear box, which makes it stand out from the crowd. I’m not too technically minded but having owed several cars over the years ... more

Advantages Advantages Reliable, Cheap to run and insure

Disadvantages Disadvantages None in my opinion

I’m not sure where to start this review so i’ll start at the beginning. It’s july 2000 and i need a car, the loan is sorted (with the co-operative bank) and I’ve spent the last two afternoons walking round car lots in ipswich and i’m getting nowhere fast. Lex autosales (no longer selling cars) are next on the list of places to visit. on the forecourt is a plethora of shiny things in a rainbow assortment of colours but nothing in my price range, as i get ready to leave a salesman chasing his commission no doubt asked if he could help. I told him i was interested in the micra but it was too much ... more
