I bought myself a 'new' shape micra back in 2001 and have never looked back. It was a great little car which presented no mechanical problems and I Ioved it. Unfortunately my circumstances changed and I had to trade it in since I was killing the poor little 1.0 litre engine on the motorway! This is the 3rd Micra we have owned the previous 2 were petrol 998cc cars which were very good cars for their class but this one is a quantum leap forward in design, performance and looks. The car being reviewed is the new style Micra NOT the one in the picture, it is a 5dr 1.5dCi 82ps SVE03 ours is in pearlescent silver. Bought in March 2004 it cost £11400, not cheap for a small car. I loooovvvveeee my Micra! I have the new model of this, 2003 not the one in the picture. I love the bubble shape of this car and it surprisingly has a lot of room in it. I used to have a Mazda MX5, then a Ford Streetka, but when we got a dog (GSD) I had to get a car he could actually fit in! So I found this Micra. It was only £6k for a diesel that had only done 16000 miles! And it's brilliant. People say 'oh it's an old granny car' but I am only 24 and I love it! Well this car has it all in so many areas. The ability to seat comfortably 4 adults with the rear seat moved at it furthest point, a stero system thats sound quality stands up well vs other manufacturers, and the fact that the shape is so different to the previous version and most other small cars. The controls for the system are very easy to use, via the dash or the steering column. It has nice touches such as storage under the passenger seat, and the rear seat that moves to give you bigger boot space or rear passenger space.
