Nissan Primera 1.8 16v Saloon

The All New Singing And Dancing Nissan Primera

Advantages: It's a Nissan
Disadvantages: I don't like the new styling much

...and I also run a Nissan Bluebird Executive as my taxi, so it would be fair to say that I’m a big Nissan fan, as the two cars have given us sterling service, and have never let us down.

~ ~ So it was with a sense of anticipation that I recently picked up my test car from Nissan for an extended three day trial, a brand spanking new 1.8-litre version of the new model Primera.
You might go as far as to say that I was somewhat ...
...the way that the redesigned Nissan Almera model caught my attention when it hit the streets back in 2000.
Ever since Nissan went into partnership with the French car manufacturer Renault a few years ago, their cars have become more eye-catching, and the French influence in the design sticks out like a sore thumb. Fans of Renault, and French car design, might well be delighted by this development, but personally it leaves me cold.

...have supplied is of the Nissan Primera. In 1990 whilst I was working at a busy Nissan dealership they introduced the Nissan Primera to replace the old & aging Nissan Bluebird. Although the Primera was no stunning looking car it was light years ahead of its competitors in terms of build quality, construction, engineering & features. It was little surprise that Ford used the Primera as a 'bench mark' for their new Mondeo which was introduced a couple ...
...drove one of the last Nissan Primera 1.8 models for a couple of days in Ireland. The model has now been discontinued in the UK but many are still available as good second-hand buys. Its looks are a matter of personal taste, to me it looks very modern but I wasn't sure about the 'frumpy' looking rear end. Inside the car is as roomy as ever but it's the dash layout that immediately catches your eyes. The instruments are located rather neatly in the ...

...first impression of the new Nissan Primeras. Having been a Nissan Primera driver for some years, latest being a 1.6 sri I was lucky enough to be invited to our local Dixons dealership for the launch of the new Primeras last month & more importantly this included an all expenses paid trip to Oulton Park Race Circuit to drive the new cars. So I will try to give an unbiased opinion which should not be too hard because the new Nissans are a total departure ...
...eighteen of them supplied by Nissan UK - So we are told to split into groups of 3 & pick our unfortunate Instructor. I'm a lucky chap and find myself teamed up with a Nissan Manager with racing experience, a current racing driver for an instructor & another green horn like me. Here we go, first the racing boy shows us the way around for 3 laps & then nissan man struts his stuff... Oh lordy it's me next. Well I strap myself in, get all comfortable, ...

Nissan Primera -Very Modern Different Car

Advantages: Very Comfortble , well equipped very roomy
Disadvantages: Poor rear visibility, looks not to my taste

As I have been hiring cars over the past year I have had a lot of time to compare dfferent models in this sector. I have been driving the New Primera for two weeks now having previously driven a Mondeo and Honda Accord. Ill give a comparison at the end. Exteriror Styling To be honest the exterior styling isnt really to my taste. It looks kind of big and bulky and a little too much like a concept car. This is really a subjective thing though does ...
...base 1.8 model so no rear view camera and without it parking is tricky. The rear window is very high and I have now twice pranged the bumper as I misjudged the distance. Interior This is what I liked most about this car. Refreshingly different and everybody comments on it. It is really roomy - I am 6'3 and this was by far the roomiest car i have driven. The dials are all centre mounted and once you are used to this much more convenient. If you ...

An Excellent Car!

Advantages: Lovely Cabin, Good to Drive, Very Soft
Disadvantages: Small Boot, Centre Console, Storage space

This review is for the Nissan Primera 1.8 S which was released in 2003 (this is the new radical shape). BTW I think Ciao have put the wrong photo up. This is a great car..... Driving ===== 1. The car drives great, very smooth and lovely. Though I have to agree with some other loyal Nissan drivers that the older Primeras Nissans are much nicers to drive. But this is not a bad car, but not perfect like the olders Nissans - but still very good! ...
...two coffee cups. 3. Nissan have put a centre Console, This JUST LOOKS AMAZING. You can use the Radio, Air Conditioning, Fuel Consumption, Service Reminders etc... The console is both Brilliant and at times can be annoying. It is great that there are large buttons to control these things and a nice LCD screen to see all the features (so it looks pretty cool), but it is annoying sometimes that you have to navigate to where you want to get to. E.g. ...

A female's view.

Advantages: Large, but not cumbersome
Disadvantages: No alarm, only single cd player!!!

...easy comfortable car. The Nissan Primera has fully adjustable steering wheel and seat. No fancy electrical adjustment I'm afraid, just basic turny things, but they do the job. Even though the car is very big, visibility is excellent and the reversing camera on the SE is ingenious. No more crunched registration numbers or 'using your bumpers' to park. (I never did that, but I know some people do...!LOL) 2. The car needed to be roomy. Our previous ...
...the car comfortably. The Nissan Primera is HUGE on the inside. It's a bit like a tardis really because sometimes it looks big from the outside, but never as big as it does on the inside!! We have just taken a trip to the dump and didn't even drop the back seats, there's so much room inside the boot. It easily fits five people, or four people with an armrest. 3. The car needed to be 'different'. I had got so used to driving the sports car, I was ...
