Nissan Qashqai 2.0 dCi 4 x 4

The Qashqai is lovely to drive. It has ESP to help you round corners etc. It feels solid and has been voted Safest European car of the Year! Seems to have airbags everywhere. Lovely comfy seats at the front that can be adjusted back and forth as well as up or down. Easy to get in and out of. Rear view is a little limited but the compensation is the huge wing mirrors that fold back when you are parked. It also has a reversing sensor which is so sensitive it even noticed a small cat! The hand brake is awkwardly placed by the passenger and can get lost in coats! Loads of leg room front and back. A 'Don't mess with me' look. Also seems to sip the fuel! Currently I get about 40 mpg. I love it and am so glad I bought it. I have the Qashqai Accenta 1.6 in a kind of midnight blue. Much nicer than the grey or the orangey red.
It was extremely good at negotiating little narrow lanes in Exmoor, much to my surprise. It also dealt with some pretty steep hills without a fuss.
I have carried 3 older teenage lads in the back all measuring over 6ft and they had loads of leg space!
Mine also has a panoramic roof. It is lovely to be able to see so much and for the rear passengers to get as good a view as those up front. I purchased the car in July '07 and have had no problems with it at all. It is lovely to drive and I feel very safe and high enough up to see what is coming without that 4x4 look.
Boot is very spacious and can accommodate 2 large suitcases and a small one as well as various wellies and extra rucksacks.
I am much impressed and have no inclination to change it for the foreseeable future.
It is most definitely a car to be considered if you are looking to get something a bit bigger.

UPDATE
It is a year since I got the Qashqai and I have had no problems with it at all. It has performed well in all sorts of conditions. The only one I have not encountered yet is snow but I am sure that will happen soon.
Service was done easily and swiftly. There was nothing wrong and it was just the basics that would be done as per usual in a service.
I would recommend the Qashqai for those who would like the feel of a 4x4 without all the hassle and extra cost of a 4x4. My tax was £145. My insurance is group 5 which cheap for a big car.
The CD player can take 6 CDs at a time.
I really would recommend the car. Although if you live in a hilly area I would strongly advise you to consider the 2 litre engine.
