Most people who know what a Nissan Skyline is, know its reputation. These beasts (and they really are beasts of cars) have a specification that makes almost all other production cars cringe.
Take a look (standard spec - these cars are easily tunable to 600BHP!):
280BHP (that's the max. power a production car in Japan can have!) 0-62mph in 5.2 seconds DOHC 4 Valves Twin Turbos 2.6 litre straight 6
To make the picture a little more accurate:
- The cars are usually rear-wheel drive, however when loss of traction occurs, power can be distributed to 50-50 between front and rear - They have four-wheel steering! - The car senses what each wheel is doing 100 times a second so it can compensate by redistributing power, etc. - The car even considers where you are pointing the steering wheel to work out what to do! - Both understeer and oversteer are corrected giving totally neutral handling - They can pull 1.2 G in cornering (a Lotus Elise can only manage 1.1!)
I hope to be the owner of a 400+ BHP example soon ... beware complacent Porsche drivers!!

An excellent car. As we all know, that 280BHP limit in Japan doesn't neccessarily mean the cars have that amount. Many "standard" skylines have come into the country with well over 300BHP on tap. Decent op.

These cars are absolutely awesome! One day she will be mine :-) Have you seen HKS's 1300 bhp R32? I did the standing 1/4 mile in 8secs with wheel-spin - how scary is that? Oh and Top Secrets' 1000bhp R33 that does 0-200mph in just 24secs. Yup I definitely gotta get me a Skyline - Oh momma :-) Justin

They are wonderful. My bofriend's dad just got one and its absolutely amazing, it was built for racing and has been tweaked and is REALLY scarey now!
