I have had a 2.2 dCi SVE from new for 2 years, and while the concept is good, the reality is tempered by some serious faults, several minor niggles and hopeless customer support.
The Good. Good ride on most surfaces and excellent performance from the diesel engine. Reasonable gear shift and generally well placed controls. Air conditioning and heated seats are great! Amazing off road! Satnav excellent (but map update not available)
The Bad The boot is not as roomy as the size of the car suggests it will be. The shiny boot lining is rubbish - get a liner as soon as possible. The hard plastic lining in the cabin and boot is not very hard wearing and marks very easily even with fingernails. It rattles, from the rear, from the sunroof, from the dashboard and especially the engine. Road noise intrudes a great deal. The body work appears flimsy in places and is easily dented, especially the bonnet and doors.
The Ugly It is unreliable. Quite a surprise for a Nissan. The induction system is not up to the job as the replacement of the turbo and intercooler, twice, indicates. This is an engine out job so it will be very expensive out of warranty. Also had problems with the electrics. Customer support is poor both from my dealer and Nissan.
Conclusion Like the idea of the car, but it does not live up to its promise in reality. After sales support pathetic.
Would I buy another? No - I will never buy another Nissan after this.
