The car being reviewed is the Nissan X-trail, Sports expedition model which includes a list of extras a: Satnav, rear view parking camera, climate control aircon, and a switch for the transmission, which allows the driver to choose between 4WD, 2WD, or 4WD with lock differential. The X-trail will also automatically switch between 2WD and 4WD when it detects a wheel slipping. Plus the added easy to open glass sunroof, made the car feel even more spacious.
The Nissan X-trail is the real deal, when it comes to an off-roader. In my view its strong, its tough, capable enough to clamber over rocks, and go splashing through mud. All of which is helped by the X-trail's generous ground clearance, all-condition tyres and well-protected undersides. Plus it's punchy 2 litre, 173 hp turbodiesel engine, offers ample power to go anywhere, with a smooth and easy drive...thanks to it's light neat and direct steering, which also makes it an excellent long-distance car. The X-trail's boxy shape and high driving position I found makes manoeuvres easier too. Inside the car offer's good room for 5 passengers in a tall cabin. The plastics and fabrics used appear strong and durable and in the boot the built in storage draw, and reversible floor make it an extremely practical car. The boot is massive and the rear seats will drop, fold down to increase the available space further.
X-trail's have been around since 2001 and so used models can be found in most places to suit most budgets. Overall I think the Nissan X-trail is a terrific buy New and 2nd hand..as I think it's reliable, easy to repair when needed and practical..

Review of NissanX-Trail 2.2 dCi 4 x 4
Advantages: Excellent off-road; towing a horse box will present it with no problems Disadvantages: Lcks the on-road handling and finesse of many of its rivals
