...on the face of it Nitrobike does look the same and this made many people think their prayers had been answered. Has Ubisoft managed to recreate the glory of Excitebike with the developers of Excitebike 64 on board?

As we saw in Excite Truck, the Wii is capable of pretty impressive visuals despite everyone's concerns. The fact that it is possible makes the bland mess of polygons that is Nitrobike all the worse. They are jagged, with ... ...coming back for more. Again, Nitrobike fails as its tracks are pretty boring and flat, not boasting any of the huge jumps or chasms seen in Excitebike 64 and Excite Truck. As well as the narrow, repetitive courses the AI players seem to favour suicide over racing, and you may well do as well after trying and failing to navigate clusters of objects. Nitrobike for Wii. Has Exitebike returned??

Advantages: Lots of fun, quite cheap
Disadvantages: dissappointing graphics and sound
Nitrobike is a Wii Game by Ubisoft that allows you to take control of a dirt bike, hit the track and boost past your opponents. On the face of it, the quality and overall gameplay isn't that terrific, but is this just another failed wii game, or is there more under the hood???
I'll start with the playability and enjoyment. To drive your bike, you use the wiimote sideways, as in mario kart, and then turn by tilting it. The controls are simple enough, ... ...is enjoyable, though the repetitive play can get a tad dull.
The game is quite original, but makes no great strides in the world of gaming, and no obvious attempt is made to get gamers the 'wow' factor. The graphics and sound are not great for a wii game, and if you enjoy calm, peaceful, serene music, you're in for a shock.
