Nivea is a beauty brand offering various products for both men and women. The range includes goodies for cleansing and moisturising your body, creams and glosses for your face and lips and also sun lotions and various deodorants.
Product and Range
Nivea offer a selection of shower products. There are a few suited to the men, some unisex ones and also a collection for the ladies.
Happy Time is a fairly new release to Nivea. In this range, there is a body lotion and a shower cream. The shower cream is designed to be used in the shower of course like a normal shower gel. It is enriched with bamboo milk to leave your skin soft and smooth after showering. It is scented with orange blossom which helps to uplift the senses and rejuvenate your skin.
The shower cream is pH balanced and has been dermatologically approved so suitable for those with sensitive skin.
The shower cream is housed in a white, plastic bottle which is curved at the edges for easily handling in the shower. There is a flip top cap at the top covering the dispensing hole. The design of the bottle is bright without being overbearing. Blue writing is surrounded by orange drops making it summery. The information on the bottle includes the blurb, ingredients etc.
The bottle can be recycled and should be used up within 12months of opening.
Jump in the shower and apply a drop of Happy Time to your body or body puff. Lather up and rinse off!
The shower cream comes in a 250ml bottle. It can be picked up from supermarkets and chemists priced at around £1.50-£1.90.
Nivea is a brand I have been familiar with since my childhood. My Mum used the Nivea Cream so when I started fending for myself, Nivea jumped out at me and I feel their products are of a high quality for a low price. Recently Tesco were running an offer on Happy Time and Cashmere Moments Shower Creams. Priced at only 75p (better than half price), I picked up a few bottles, confident I would like them!
The Happy Time Shower Cream bottle is bright and feminine without being in your face. It is easy to hold though I find the lid quite difficult to flip up, especially with wet hands! I have been using this shower cream in the mornings as I feel frutier scents are suited to waking the mind up and this was no exception.
The shower cream has a reasonably thick consistency like thick yoghurt but not as thick as fromage fraise. It is has a shiny, white colour and glistens as it flows freely from the bottle. The initial scent is citrussy and reminds me of tangerines. I feel this shower cream is best used on a shower puff to work up the best lather.
Once my shower puff touches my skin, the cream transforms into a gorgeous lather. Many shower creams I have used, have given off a thick, foamy mass of lather but Happy Time was a bit different. The lather was light and fluffy and covered a large area with a tiny sweep of the puff. The scent developed and was uplifting and invigorating. As it worked up into a lather, the scent reminded me of Muller Light Mandarin yoghurt. It was cream, sweet and had a pleasant zesty edge which I feel helped to waken me up a bit..definently not one for just before bed time!
As I washed over my body, I was pleased at how far a little blob of Happy Time went. With every sweep, I could really feel my skin being cleansed. The light lather was soft against my skin and produced a nourishing feeling which felt rather luxurious. Quite impressive for a cheap brand. I tried applying the shower cream directly to my skin using my hand and didn't like it..it was refreshingly cool but didn't spread well and clung to my skin..shower puff everytime!
Washing the shower cream off my skin was relatively easy. A few swishes under the shower head and the bubbles ran off. My skin at first felt a little tight but the effects became apparent once I had towel dryed my body. The bamboo milk was added to provide soft and smooth skin and I feel it worked well. My skin is sensitive and I suffer with dry patches and problem skin on my arms. The shower cream worked well at moisturising my skin and it appeared smoother than before I used it. My skin improved over time, gradually becoming softer after each use.
The scent in shower is gorgeously refreshing and whilst it surrounds in the shower and as I dry, it doesn't last very long. After drying, there is a slight, citrus scent on my skin but it doesn't jump out and is only really noticeable if I get my nose up close and have a sniff! After showering, I felt a little more alert and awake and completely refreshed and clean so thumbs up on these accounts!
Although aimed at the ladies, as the scent doesn't stick around on the skin, this would be more than suitable for the men in the house to use. A little goes a long way making Happy Time very economical and purse friendly! Stock up whilst Tesco have it on offer..well worth it!
