When we went to Spain back in May I knew I'd be reapplying sun cream to my daughter a lot so needed to take some sun cream in the bag with us when we left the hotel. For that reason I was looking for a smallish bottle of sun cream so that it wouldn't take up too much room, I hadn't looked for something so small before so didn't know if it would be easy to find or not but I came across this tub of SPF 50+ Nivea sun cream in my local Tesco.
The sun cream comes in a small white tub with a yellow lid. It has a colourful design on the front and all the normal information you would expect on the back of the tub. The lid to the sun cream is yellow and it secures nicely on top so you don't have to worry about it leaking all over your belongings in your bag.The cream itself is white in colour and has a normal sun cream consistency by not being overly runny but not thick in the slightest. It doesn't have any kind of scent to it which is nice, nothing worse than foul smelling sun cream stuck all over your body! After rubbing it onto my daughter it doesn't take a lot of rubbing it in, this is definitely a plus as she doesn't like me applying any sun cream so it's essential to find something that is quick to apply.
Nivea recommend that you apply this sun cream to children every half an hour, I personally feel this is a bit excessive. I tend to reapply sun cream on my daughter every hour, sometimes it's a little long between applications. Even though we don't apply this every half an hour, my daughter doesn't catch the sun in any way and still has the same colour skin as parts of her body that get covered up with clothes. There is no way she would let me reapply this every 30 minutes! Of course, with all sun creams it needs to be reapplied after being in water. As this is a pocket size sun cream, it is easy to take out for the day without taking up too much valuable room space in a bag. I used my beach bag everyday on holiday and it fit into one of the small pockets well, it was easy to leave in there and just take out as and when we needed to use it. Although we didn't have the nicest weather on holiday, I still applied this liberally just to be on the safe side and despite it only being 50ml, there was still some sun cream left at the end of the holiday.
I bought this sun cream when it was on special offer from Tesco and it cost me £3. I'd definitely recommend this sun cream if you are after something to slip into a bag, the small tub makes it a perfect sun cream for out and about! Please note: Ciao's specific criteria for SPF didn't go upto 50 so I chose 30, the sun cream is SPF50.
