Nivea Firming Lotion

There comes a time I a woman's life when she begins to think and worry about aging. It's something you don't really worry about when your young and face creams, lotions, cleansers and moisturisers are used now and again, as your skin is in the smooth, natural youthful look. Healthy and clear.

Then comes the autumn of your years and at my age of late forties (well I'm not going to tell you exactly how old I am.) I have begun to see the tell tale lines of aging, laughter lines on the sides of my eyes, and small little lines appearing around the sides of my mouth.
These are something I have to get used to now, as they will only get more and more as I age. I have never been one for wearing make-up or using skin products on a regular basis, as my skin is healthy and as a result of not wearing make-up all my life, I look ten years younger than I really am.
Although not smoking and drinking could also contribute to this, but no-one can really tell when it comes to aging, it's all a bit of a mystery, it all depends on a combination of things.

You never really think about wrinkles, until they start to appear, but it's not to late to do something about it, so I have discovered.
I have always been a fan of Nivea Products, they are something I have grown up with, my mother and grandmother used them and now I find I tend to buy similar products that I recognise to be good, as they are tried and tested by my family generations.
Having scouted around Boots in the beauty aisle, wondering which lotion or cream to buy, after all when your not used to buying these things it can be a bit daunting, I spotted the Nivea Firming Lotion.
This was exactly what I was looking for, something to firm up the skin and stop the tiny wrinkles developing and more and maybe tighten up the little bit of my neck, which seems to be fighting gravity and trying to give me a double chin.

Anyway, I bought my 200ml bottle from boots at £3.69. They also do a 400ml bottle which is about £7.48, but this seemed a bit expensive to splash out on first, before I had tried and tested it.
I have bought expensive products before, only to try them, find they don't work too well and leave them on a shelf in the bathroom, until they run out of their sell by date and end up in the bin.

The bottle of Nivea firming Lotion is white plastic ( recyclable if you want to save the planet) and has the Nivea logo on the front, this is easily recognised on the shelves of the shops.
The ingredients are :-
Triple Purified Water, Mineral Oil, Glycerin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glyceryl Stearate SE, SD Alcohol 40 B, Stearic Acid, Dimethicone, Myristyl Alcohol, Polysorbate 80, Ubiquinone (Coenzyme Q10), Octyldodecanol, Carthamus Tinctoris Seed Oil (Safflower), Lanolin Alcohol, Fragrance, Carbomer, Sodium Hydroxide, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Butylparaben
Which to me might as well be written in a different language as I have no idea what they are or what they do.

I have a cabinet in my bathroom for all my bath products, as they all should be kept out of reach of little children, not only do beauty and bathroom products contain dangerous chemicals, they are also a great temptation for little hands to make potions, pretend to be grown ups and use them all at once and to see what kind of a mess they can make in the bathroom.

Unfortunately, I do not like the smell of Nivea products, so if this has the familiar smell, I'll give it a miss. I'll sniff a bottle when nobody's looking, just to make sure. I just imagine the "decoration" in your bathroom done by small hands and a tube of toothpaste!
