Nivea is a worldwide renouned brand based in Germany which has been around for ages, I do remember it since I was a little girl and they do make all sorts of beauty products, from body creams to deodorants, showergels to face care and in overall I find them rather good in quality and price. Being a woman is a difficult business let me tell you, it is a continue struggle against body hair, body fat, sagging, wrinkles and of course the dreaded CELLULITE!!
Being a curvaceous lady made me always concerned about this problem and although I try to lead a healthy lifestyle by eating properly and going to the gym I do suffer of it a little, although luckily it is not a major issue for me.
After my daily shower and my daily rituals of moisturizing and toning using potions and lotions I always use an anti-cellulite cream, gel, serum whatever comes in my hands. I have tried all sorts of brands, cheap and expensive ones with no logic reason, I just wanted to buy them if new on the market, test them, sometimes they might have been on offer or even cheaper than normal if I was in a duty-free as I certainly look for bargains! That is when I saw this product at Boots. It was actually half price as an introductory offer so with it you can't really go wrong... I decided to purchase two as I knew I would use this anyway so why not make the most of it. In the front you can easily read the Nivea logo and the name of this brand "Good-bye Cellulite" and "anti-cellulite smoothing cream" just underneath it in smaller letters, rather self-explanatory I thought, hope they'd keep their promise!! Still in the front but towards the bottom it says "Visibly reduces the appearance of cellulite", again very very promising I thought!
If you look at the back of the product it says that it contains L-Carnitine and that is what according to them will give you the results you are looking for. They say this component is naturally found in our skin and it is critical in the metabolism of fat and it converts it into energy. It also states that this gel forumla has a cooling effect and temporarily promotes increased blook circulation.
The packaging also shows a 12 month shelf life for this product which I think is not bad at all but if you use this product constantly both morning and night on average I feel the product can last you a week. By the way the Good-bye cellulite I bought was made in France, I hope it came by train rather than air so that I don't feel bad about my environment foot-print! Furthermore this product comes in a carton box packaging which I feel they should avoid as all information needed is in the tub anyhow and am sure they can work out some space to insert the barcode for scanning purposes. Although the carton can be recycled it would be better if it was not there in the first place, I hope you do agree with me on this point.
THEIR RESULTS ************ According to their studies, written at the back of the product and on a test of 161 women they obtained the following self assesment results: -After 4 weeks 62% of women agreed the appearance of cellulite is visibly reduced -After 8 weeks 70% of women agreed the appearance of cellulite is visibly reduced
INDIPENDENT TEST *********** This product is very new on the market so I have still not read on the papers that much about it but I watched a program on Channel 4 last week called "How to look good naked" and apparently it came to be their first choice in price and results and I thought this reassuring.
INGREDIENTS *********** The main ones are Acqua, Alcohol Denat., Cyclometicone, Glycerin and of course their L-Carnitine and other ones I cannot name or type, but what really surprised me is that Caffeine is not there. I looked again and not there!! I am aware many anti-cellulite products have it as a main ingredient because of its draining and stimulating properties but for someone like me who cannot drink coffee because I am very sensitive to caffeine and get palpitation it was a bit of a hit and miss as certain products would have more caffeine than others and give me palpitations and keep me awake at night if I used them for example after my evening shower. I noticed that with the Garnier roller-ball or the Loreal one. So if you are in a way sensitive to too much caffeine take note from my lesson!!
HOW DO I USE IT *********** This product is very fast absorbing, after a minute or two you can already dress and wear thights without any trouble! you basically squeeze this product on my hand then as the gel sometimes feels a bit icy I would put the other hand on top for a few seconds to bring it to my temperature and then massage it on my tummy, legs and bum. It is alwas advised to massage in strokes going towards the heart to stimulate circulation in the right way. The product is a gel in consistency and of blue colour, the smell is very pleasant and fresh, not at all overpowering and goes away once the product is absorbed in your skin.
Nowadays products are rather cool as you don't have to massage for a long time to activate them whereas in the past you had to spare a few minutes each day to make sure the product was absorbed and dried on your skin. Now instead you can just massage until all absorbed, get dressed and enjoy the day ahead! Brilliant!!
WHAT IS CELLULITE? *********** Cellulite is a fat deposit under the skin which causes the dimpling effect sometimes called as "orange skin". These deposits happen on the legs and hips of women and despite people thinking that only fat people get it, it can also affect people on the thin side and men too!! You can diminish cellulite by excercise, having a heathly diet and penty of water to flush away the toxins in our body. If we can rid ourselvses completely from cellulite that I do doubt very much...

MY OPINION ************* This product is not bad at all, I have used it for possibly 3 weeks now and I can definitely see my skin is smoother and dimples are reduced and skin is more toned. I try to be good with my lifestyle anyhow and scrub with a brush and an exfoliator once/twice a week to increase the blood flow and circulation in problem areas. The normal cost of this product is £9.99 which is not bad compared to more expensive brands, in my case I paid half the price in boots as an introductory offer but I am sure now and again there will be reductions around perhaps even in Superdrug so keep your eyes peeled for this product. Definitely give this a go if you use anti-cellulite creams. The only downside I mentioned is that I feel they should avoid using a carton box as a main packaging as it is truly not needed.
Another message if I may is that as long as you treat your body well, does not matter if you are not perfect, I know we are all bombarded with messages of perfection and quest towards the perfect body and size 0 models but we are real women living a real life so even if we do have a curve or dimple here and there, let's be proud of who we are and walk with our head high!

Nivea Goodbye Cellulite Is the new anti cellulite formula from Nivea, I have seen the posters 'Praise Your Behind' etc but never really taken notice of it until I saw an offer in Boots where it was £4.99 instead of the usual £9.99. Having an arse like a bag of Birdseye Potato Waffles I bought some, as I can quite frankly do with all the help I can get.
Cellulite is that lumpy effect you get usually on your thighs and arse, though worryingly I have ... ...combined with exercise doesn't give Nivea Anti cellulite gel a head start then it probably isn't going to help on it's own. I would say this product was a nice enough gel to use as an everyday product, but not as the solution to cellulite it claims to be.
At the end of the day I'm not that bothered about my cellulite that I'd go searching for the holy grail of products, or spend huge sums of money on treatments - it would just be nice if a reasonably ...

i am 24, 5 feet 8 inches, 125 lbs. i have cellulite on my backside and right under bum on thighs. I bought the goodbye gel as well as the patches. this is not an over night cure, it does take a few weeks, but it REALLY works! when i was just using the gel, i was not getting the result i hoped for, but after combing patches twice a week, WOW!!! what a difference...i say try it, but dont give up after a week, it takes a couple weeks to work, plus it smells lovely. ...

Good Bye Cellulite Gel Cream is one of the latest innovations to come from the Nivea Laboratories,rich in L Carnatine which is found naturally in the skin.
The gel is competitively priced at around £7 for 6.7 oz.
The highly scented green gel needs to be sparingly applied to the affected area and massaged ... ...the gel has been totally absorbed,this takes a while.
