Remember back in May we had that hot spell? I do! I got absolutely toasted! Phew! So the first thing I did once I'd stopped writhing in burning agony was to nip down the shops and buy some lotion.
We always used to get Hawaiian Tropic, and I love the coconutty smell, but the ole' student budget just won't stretch that far, so I nipped into Wilkos to have a look there. They had 200ml bottles of Nivea SunMosturisingSun Lotion priced at £6.99. Bargainous. But I looked closer... reduced to £2 plus I'd get a free camera film! Wow! As you can imagine, I bought it.
The wording on the blue bottle told me it protected against sunburn and premature skin ageing, which sounds great to me, and I plumped for factir 16, as I'm fairer than snow white on a rainy day in November, and so burn very easily. :-( (Actually, at the same time, I bought some fake tan! lol)
Being water resistant, I can swim in this stuff, which is great as water actually reflects more UV and so on onto the skin. In addition to this, Nivea have included some vitamin E to help your skin.
"UVA and UVB filters" good. "UV stable" ok, you've lost me now, but it sounds impressive!
What's great about this stuff is that it gives lots of advice on when to reapply, which SPF to use, and when to avoid the sun altogether. It also is easily absorbed, and I found it to have a nice smooth consistency which went on well. Ingredients? Well there're lots, buut if you're that interested...
