I was off to see the Pyramids, Trek in sand dunes, scuba & snorkel in the red sea and also sail down the Nile in a felucca so I needed a Sun Lotion to ensure I did not burn to a crisp and look pinky or flakey in my holiday photos.
Nivea a well known brand who offers a wide range SPF for both the young and elderly and for different skin types. So when I saw the 200ml blue bottle Nivea Moisturing Sun Lotion at my local Boots store screaming SPF 16 which I thought was reasonably priced since the higher the factor the more expensive it becomes.
The lotion is easy to apply, and is quickly absorbed despite the thick texture, leaving you skin feeling silky smooth, without any greasy effects.
Once you apply the sun lotion your skin is protected for the whole day, the only time I felt I needed to top up was after swimming. It does say Water-resistant but instructed by the bottle label I did reapply after swimming to be on the safe side.
The added bonus is UVA+UVB filter system and Vitamin E. Which totally lossed me but the package said something about reinforcing your natural UV defenses and reducing the risk of UVA allergies. So that has got to be good sign.
The lotion has a nice light pleasant smell, and does the trick it says on the label - Protects against sunburn
