I received a free sample pot of Nivea Soft through the post this morning. I don't normally use moisturiser, but it just so happens that I have had a hideous cold for the past two weeks (not pleasant!) which has left my skin in a complete mess and is horribly dry and flaky (sexy I know!). So I welcomed this little pot of moisturiser as my skin is in real need of some life putting back into it.
Apparently Nivea Soft is - "a highly effective moisturising cream for every-day use on face, hands, and body. Enjoy a fresh moisture boost as Nivea Soft absorbs immediately into your skin and leaves it sensationally soft, supple, and invigorated". I tend to disagree slightly with this description, as I will explain below.
I opened the pot and there is a distinct smell to the moisturiser - it reminds me of sun cream! I'm not entirely sure I want to smell of sun cream in the middle of winter (technically it may still be autumn, but I feel like it's the depths of winter!). However, once you've put the moisturiser on your face the smell soon fades… well, becomes less prominent any how.
I put the moisturiser on my face and rubbed it in. I wouldn't say that it was absorbed into my skin, but after perhaps five minutes the majority of the moisturiser had sunk into my skin. However there is a slightly greasy feel to the moisturiser which I'm not too keen on. You only need the smallest amount though for your whole face (depending how large your face is, obviously!). I used roughly a pea sized amount (maybe a tad less) and it covered my whole face, so if you do buy this product you won't have to buy a pot every month or so, because it should last. Anyway, about half an hour after putting the moisturiser on the greasy feel had gone from my face (except for my forehead, but I have a very oily T spot anyway - I'm really making my self sound super attractive in this review… sigh…). My hands on the other hand is a different matter, my fingers still feel very greasy, even though the pot says it is for hands as well (excuse all the spelling mistakes, it's only because my fingers keep slipping off the keys…).
My cheeks do feel 'super soft' though, which is nice, and my dry and flaky skin is no more. Even the really rough skin around my nose has gone, which is fairly impressive. I can't say that my skin feels more supple though, just softer.
I can't comment on the packaging, as I received only a 8 ml trial sample through the post. Also, I'm not sure how much it would cost to buy… just been on the Boots website, and apparently it will cost you £6.99 for a 300 ml tub. I received an 8ml tub today and I reckon that's going to last me at least a week or two… so 300ml should last you about 37 - 75 weeks (roughly… don't take my word for it!). Going on that basis, £6.99 for a years worth of moisturiser isn't half bad. I'd say that was good value for money really. Before I looked at the price, I was probably not going to buy it as it's not amazing, there are drawbacks, but £7 for a year's worth of moisturiser is a bit of a bargain and I'm now thinking that the moisturiser is average at a very good price so I probably will buy it.
If you do have dry skin then this moisturiser is very good. I wouldn't recommend it though if you have oily skin, as it only makes it greasier, which is never a sexy look! However, as it is an intensive moisturising cream it's probably not designed for oily skin. Just had a thought and tried the moisturiser on my superly flaky legs, and it has made them a lot less dry, so perhaps (I am no expert though, so please don't take my word for it and maybe check with your doctor) this moisturiser could help if you have eczema as it's very moisturising.
Value for money is great, and the moisturiser itself is average. If you're looking for a really good moisturiser, then I would perhaps look for a different one, but if you're on a tight budget, this is probably a good option.

Nivea Soft (www.nivea.com - they are often giving away free samples, so it's worth seeing whether you can get this as a free sample before buying) Intensive moisturising cream Contains Jojoba oil and Vitamin E £6.99 for 300ml from www.boots.com
Summary: for a cheap moisturiser, this is a good 'un
Advantages: absorbs well, works brilliantly, a visible improvement in my skin Disadvantages: only the price - but it's worth it :-)
...it’s not by Avon! It’s Nivea Soft Intensive Moisturising Crème (phew!) which is usually priced around £2.40 for the 75ml tube (it’s also available in a little jar) but I bought some last week from Asda for only £2.18 – so shop around!
I have suffered from dry skin for a long time, despite trying various products both prescribed by the Doctor and bought over the counter. But the problem persisted. One day, we were on a long ... ...was my first experience of Nivea and I have been using it every day since then.
What’s more, its effects must be visible because when I was having my hair dyed last week, my hairdresser asked what I had been using on my face, as my skin looked so much better. Yes, this cream can also be used on your face – unlike most hand creams – and I have problem skin here too. My cheeks are very dry and flaky, often becoming red and itchy ...

...and decided to try her Nivea soft, intensive moisturising cream that she uses on her body and not on her face.
The bottle costs about £1.99 for a 75ml bottle, but you can get it for more or less. The bottle was white with the blue Nivea sign, Nivea intensive moisturising cream written on the front.
I didn't rate the bottle, it was plastic and nothing special. There was no fancy design on it, no flowers and no effort put in, in that department.
... ...feeling.
My mum uses Nivea soft, intensive moisturising cream all the time and she loves it. Mum unlike me uses it for her body though and it can be used all over your skin. Did you also know that vitamin E helps to strengthen nails as well as being highly beneficial to the skin.
I would recommend this, my mum buys it at Tesco's, but you can buy it from almost anywhere. Like I said earlier the only downside is the smell which I don't like. Mum ...

Advantages: Refreshing, unique, nice smell Disadvantages: Hard to squeeze the remaining cream out
Nivea Soft Intensive Moisturising Cream is a product I will stick with, after trying lots of different hand creams that I didn't like. It comes in a 75ml tube which is good to fit into your hand bag and carry around with you all day, or a 200ml pot, good for using at home. The cream looks amazing when you open the pot product - bright white and fluffy looking like whipped cream. Looks almost good enough to eat (wouldn't recommend that though haha)!
... ...on hands, body AND face, therefore its multi-purpose so you don't need to buy lots of different types of creams, which is beneficial if you're going on holiday, for example. It's fresh, light and makes my skin nice and smooth. My hands never feel dry after I apply this, but I usually use it twice a day to ensure my skin stays moisturised throughout. It's not greasy at all and it absorbs quickly, but I tend to use a different, special cream for my ...

...4 free 8ml samples of Nivea Soft through my front door. You see there are 4 flats in this house, except I'm pretty sure that the tough guy in Flat 1 doesn't want a free sample of Nivea Soft. The guy in Flat 2 might but that's an entirely different story! Since they were all left downstairs I figured that I might as well take all 4. SMELL Mmm. Original Nivea moisturiser smells good but this product smells amazing. It has a light, fresh fragrance that ... ...part - you can use Nivea Soft on your face, hands & body. Most moisturisers are too rich for your face but not this one. First I decided to try it on my face. It glided on well, absorbed almost immediately and felt noticeably softer. Whilst it is quite thick in its consistency and incredibly moisturising, it isn’t greasy or too rich. It is ph balanced and gentle enough to use every day. I have very sensitive skin and it didn't irritate me at all. ...

What can I say? Nivea have really struck gold with this product! I discovered it last week when my Mum, due to a dodgy sample of some cream, came out in nasty blotches of dry flaking skin and an equally nasty, but nicely co-ordinating (!), rash. As she refused to leave the house I, dutiful daughter that I am, nipped down to Tesco in search of something to soothe her pain.
---Packaging---
I chose this product due to the fact that it claimed to contain ... ...plain white background with the Nivea logo on it is not exactly what I’d call eye catching but this really is a case of letting the product speak for itself. It is available in a 75ml tube (priced at around £2.50) and a 150ml little pot (around £5). Had this been for myself, I would have plumped for the pot (I can’t stand the wastage you get with a tube) but instead I went for the cheaper option- the tube.

Advantages: cheap, can be used all over and smells great Disadvantages: none
This is an opinion on niveasoftintensivemoisturisingcrème. I think it would belong under this sub heading! Any way I’ll cut to the chase. After reading loads of opinions on moisturisers I thought I’d write my 10ps worth.
I have been using niveasoft for about 3 years now and find it an amazing all round product. I use it for removing eye make up, moisturising my face and body and my hands. It absorbs really quickly and a little goes a long way. It’s not greasy like others nor does it leave that horrible shiny film on your skin. It’s just a good honest moisturiser, which smells wonderful! It costs £2.69 for a 75ml tube (which I never bother with as you can never get it all out and you end up cutting up the tube to get the remains – waste not want not!) and £3.99 for a 150ml pot – which is ...
Advantages: Does what it says on the bottle - as long as your expectations are realistic Disadvantages: May seem a bit costly - around twice the price of "normal" body lotions from Nivea/Vaseline
fragrance. When applied, it feels a bit sticky or greasy, but the lotion absorbs quickly into the skin and within 10 minutes or so and skin starts feeling really smooth and supple.
I've had dry, eczema-prone skin all my life, and they could certainly do with a bit of moisture. However in the past, I've tried many drugstore body lotions, including NIVEA's classic blue tin Creme and its newer white plastic tub NIVEASOFTINTENSIVEMOISTURISINGCREME, Vaseline Intensive Care Dry Skin Lotion and none of these products actually worked to produce long-lasting moisturisation (though they're almost half the price cheaper than NIVEA's Q10 Firming Lotion) - normally I have to reapply skin creams over my body a few times a day to keep skin feeling and looking hydrated. NIVEA Firming Lotion with Q10 is the first body lotion I've used which actually kept ...

green and it stinks of pine, not pleasant on either count.
It is quite thick and creamy and feels lovely and cooling on your face. I have very dry cheeks, so I need to use a face cream every day. My favourite is NiveaSoftIntensiveMoisturisingCrème and the only reason the Avon Naturals came out of the cupboard was when I ran out of Nivea last week.
It is an adequate substitute, but can’t completely replace my Nivea. The Avon Naturals Aloe Face Cream is harder to absorb than the Nivea, leaving my cheeks feeling greasy and slippery.
The Nivea smells lovely, it looks great and absorbs brilliantly. It is also suitable for all your skin and I often use it on my hands, whereas the Avon one is specifically a face cream.
The Avon Naturals face cream is a pretty good product. It does work, my face was much less dry after ...
