I have tubes of hand lotion, bottles of face cream and mountains of body lotions tucked away in my room. This is fine when I am at home and can use as many lotions and potions as I want. But when staying away from home it makes it slightly harder to pack. Just a few tubes of anything and my overnight bag is full and hard for me to carry! What is a girl to do!? So when I stayed at my boyfriends recently I had the excuse of needing some cream for my dry skin. Of course his response was why didn’t I bring one from my already vast collection of creams, but I just couldn’t choose! So when I spotted this in Boots I put down the other things I had picked up and was proud of myself for just picking up this one little tube! Nivea Soft…

** Nivea Soft **

The thing about Nivea Soft which really caught my eye was that this moisturising cream is for the face, body and hands! Three products in one tube! Brilliant! I have been told time and time again that the skin on the face, body and hands are all different and you need to use specific moisturisers made specifically for that area. Let me explain…

Hand and body lotions are generally thicker because unlike the skin on the face, those areas tend not to produce so much natural oils and need more moisturising then the face. There is also the fact that the face not only needs moisture but it also needs different nutrients to the hands and body. Face creams usually boast anti-ageing properties or anti-blemish properties when the hands and body will focus more on moisturising and nourishing elements. Plus if the cream on your face is too thick it is likely you will end up clogging your pores more then anything else!

So how has Nivea managed a moisturiser that can be used EVERYWHERE?

Well, Nivea Soft is made to be gentle on the skin. The vitamin E and Jojoba oil are said to help protect the skins natural structure and to help nourish the skin. It states to have a unique formulation that is quickly absorbed to leave your skin feeling soft, refreshed and supple. It is also PH Neutral which means it is soft on the skin and perfect if you are sensitive to lotions and potions. All these factors make Nivea Soft sound like a perfect general use, everyday cream. I have always trusted the Nivea brand and their famous blue tubs, so I hoped this lived up to its promise and help me kill three birds with one stone!

** The Cream **

The cream itself is what you would expect from Nivea. A thick white consistency but yet so soft and smooth. It really does feel like luxury on the skin and it instantly refreshes on application.

One of the huge perks of this cream is the fragrance. It is refreshing just like the normal Nivea fragrance, if you have ever used it. It is a fresh sweet smell that leaves a soft powdery blanket of aroma lingering on the skin. Really soft and gentle and it makes you smell and feel fresh and clean!

** Nivea Soft On My Face **

I use face moisturiser every day with out fail and the face this cream is an all in one means it is great when you are on the go or travelling.

As the cream is quite thick you don’t need very much but I was surprised at how un-oily it was on my face. I did think at first it would be too heavy and might make my skin greasy (as the general Nivea cream does). But this really was very light on my face. It instantly moistures the face and I was surprised a just how quickly it absorbed. 40 seconds and my skin was smooth and grease free. Perfect as a make-up base as it left my skin looking healthy but without the greasy shine. As a general facial moisturiser this is amazing for those with dry skin, but it is also a good product at not irritating more oily prone skin. I have combination skin on my face which can sometimes be a problem, but the gentle effect of this moisturiser worked perfectly. Refreshing and moisturising!

** Nivea Soft On My Body **

This gave me exactly the results I expected. It really moisturised my skin leaving it feeling smooth and soft. It spreads really well so you don’t need very much so it is great value for money. It instantly refreshes and after using just a few times you can see just how soft and smooth your skin is looking. It really benefits my bad dry areas such as my elbows and feet. It seems to act like a barrier and although it doesn’t feel intensely moisturised at first after a few uses it is like the skin is almost looking after itself. Brilliant for dry skin or if you want the appearance of your skin to look better. It also absorbs quickly so perfect if you are in a rush before getting dressed!

** Nivea Soft On My Hands **

Considering the cream is quite thick it doesn’t intensely moisturise my hands. It does give them instant relief from dryness but if you do suffer from really dry hands or cuticles then you might need a more intense hand moisturiser. This is still handy to have and the fact you can apply as much as you want with out it irritating your hands or becoming overly greasy is great. I am very impatient so this absorbing so quickly automatically puts it in my good book. I don’t have majorly dry hands but I do have to cream them after washing them as they irritate me. It works perfectly at being an every day hand cream for every day use. Plus I know if I do put too much on my hands then I can share the rest with my face without worrying about a breakout of spots!

** Recommendation **

This is definitely one of my staple products now. I have to recommend it to people who want an easy life and a one size fits all product. This works all over the body and a small amount works well. I bought my 75ml tube for £1.99 which I think is a bargain. Imagine how much you spend on each individual type of cream and this does it all for under £2! Nivea soft is also available in different size tubs but I like the tube because it is easier to use on the go and you can squeeze out as much as you want without worrying about losing the lid! You can find Nivea soft is most health and beauty shops plus I have seen it in most of the large supermarkets.

It gets 5 stars because it does everything I could want a cream to do. It absorbs quickly, a little goes a long way, it smells great and it looks after my skin. I think everyone could do with keeping this in their bag.

It genuinely works well and fulfils its promise all over my body, and it leaves my skin feeling soft and refreshing with a lovely sweet aroma. All the way from my head to my toes!
