I bought this a while ago - purely by starring at the shelves in Boots waiting for that much needed inspiration on what moisturiser to buy now. I wanted something that wasn't too rich but would still leave my face soft and silky. Something that wouldn't need an hour to absorb and then leave my face shiny.
***Price*** So I picked up Nivea Visage Aqua Sensation - or "All Day Aqua"... I can seem to find the same product under two different names... *confused* (maybe they've changed the name after I bought it?). Anyway, it was on offer then and I remember that I paid just under 4 pounds. It currently retails at Boots for 4.99, but I'm sure with a bit of looking around you could find it for cheaper too.
***Appearance*** The lotion comes in a blue-tinted glass tub with a white lid. I really like the tub since it's pretty and fairly heavy and looks so much more expensive than it really is... :-) I'm planning to reuse it once I've finished the moisturiser (which is going to be soon) to store random bits like hair clips or tiny ear rings and things like that... ;-)
***Experience*** The lid opens easily and gives view of a white gel that looks a little blue from the colour of the tub. When you tip your finger into it you notice it's creamy and smooth texture. Applying it to your face is especially nice in summer (which is when I bought it) since it definitely has a refreshing touch to it. This feeling stays for several minutes after you've applied the moisturiser which is a nice thing to wake you up in the mornings. And even after the refreshing effect has disappeared, your face still feels soft and nourished. Even during the day and under make-up I can feel that my skin is so moist enough to make it through the day.
After I have started to use proactiv solution to do something for my problem-prone skin with the result that the spots and break-outs were reduced but my skin was left dry, I used this moisturiser to balance out what I was losing. So this time the moisturiser faced dry skin rather than just normal skin and as for the result of this experiment I can only say that this will surely secure the 5th star for this product. It helped moisturising my face even after it had been "artificially dried out". At the beginning I had to use it not only in the morning but also once or twice during the day, but by now I simply apply it after cleansing and toning with proactiv and my face remains soft and nourished all day.
***Conclusion*** For what it does to your skin, a very reasonably priced moisturiser that will not only refresh your skin but also keep it soft and silky all day. It's probably not rich enough for extremely dry skin, but should be able to deal with almost any other problem(s).
***Recommended*** Definitely. I will buy this again once the tub I have is empty. And that usually means something, because I like to experiment and try out new things. But since I've found something that works perfectly well for me - even under changing skin conditions - I don't need to jeopardise this for something else, probably much more expensive that I end up not liking... :-)
