~ Invigorates the eye area, giving eyes a fresh, radiant look. ~ Gives a cooling sensation of pure moisture. ~ Reduces dark circles and puffiness under the eyes. ~ Contains UVA and UVB filters. ~ Provides long lasting hydration. ~ Visibly reduces signs of tiredness under they eyes. ~ Eye area becomes softer and smoother.
§§§ How? §§§
This anti-shadow eye cream contains: ~ cucumber extract ~ this is promised to instantly revive the under-eye area with a feeling of freshness. ~ It is enriched with magnesium and ginseng extracts: Magnesium is apparently an essential mineral for cellular metabolism which helps maintain your skin’s vitality. Ginseng Root Extract is said to stimulate the circulation of blood which in itself reduces the signs of tiredness. All I can say is that I obviously need this root extract by the bucket full!! ~ light-reflecting pigments ~ said to reduce dark circles and puffiness.
≈≈≈ Price ≈≈≈
Since I received this in a small freebie sachet, I had no idea of the price and was to be honest, very shocked as to the cost when doing a little research as to the price: • Tesco ~ £5.48 per 15ml. That’s a whopping £36+ per 100ml…… Eeeeeekkkk! It doesn’t appear to be stocked as yet in Boots, at least in the NE of England but we may be a tad behind the times!
§§§ Packaging §§§
As already stated my freebie came in a little packet but since then I have seen it in Tesco. It comes in a box inside of which is a dinky little cylindrical pot with a screw top lid. I like the idea of a tub as every last remnant of the product can be scooped out, unlike many tubes or bottles. Ciao have in fact shown the correct tub, which is often a rare thing for Ciao! lol!
≈≈≈ My Experience ≈≈≈
To be fair I have to say that fortunately I don’t have puffiness around the eyes but there are certainly times, in fact most days when I do have those awful dark purple / grey areas from the corner of my under-eye, spreading so attractively outwards!
~ Appearance ~ Not a great deal to say about the appearance other than a white cream!
~ Smell ~ Having been delighted with the smell of the aqua sensation moisture cream, I have to say that I was looking forward to this having, if not the same, but a similar smell.......not so. It has nigh on no smell at all and that’s after two of us having a good old sniff of it as I doubted my sense of smell when I couldn’t smell anything. Not a hint of cucumber which was disappointing. However, in Nivea’s defense, this cream is intended for under the eye area only and I can see that their thinking is perhaps that it’s better to have no smell than an overpowering one that may conflict with the smell of a moisturiser that you may be applying on the rest of your face. So I will let them off on that score!
~ Effects ~ The cream is easy to apply but not very easily absorbed. I thought that I had been a bit over generous on the amount applied, so the following times I used far less but it still didn't soak in. It isn't a thick cream with a tiny bit of a greasy feel to it.
Once rubbed in, delicately of course! Did it do what Nivea promises? In one word NO!
Obviously it does give protection against harmful rays with the UVA and UVB filters but that is it. ~ My eye area doesn’t look invigorated and any more hydrated than usual. ~ I can’t vouch for the effects on puffiness as I don’t have puffy under-eyes as yet but as for the purple / dark areas under my eyes, I have to be whole-heartedly honest and inform the consumer that I found no benefits whatsoever. I know that I only got a small sample but once I adjusted the amount that I applied, this sachet lasted me 6 days which I would hope be enough to show some signs of improvement and since Nivea don’t state that continued use is necessary like some products then this really should do the trick straightaway! Absolutely no difference at all from using this cream.
§§§ Other Nivea Visage Products §§§
This is a line of Nivea products that have been specially formulated for facial skincare. Nivea have divided these products in to 3 skin types:
Dry / Sensitive
Oily
Normal / Combination
I have thus far only found three Nivea Visage Aqua Sensation products available: ~ Anti-shadow eye cream ~ Moisture cream ~ Shower crème
For quite a comprehensive list of the products it’s worth visiting their website, www.nivea.com although they don’t appear to list all of their products, it’s sometimes a little hit and miss!
≈≈≈ My Verdict ≈≈≈
All in all this is a huge disappointment and I’m so pleased that I got the tester packet so that I wasn’t tempted by the ‘bumph’ on the packaging and forked out the RRP. Apologies for the very low rating but if the truth be known, if ciao allowed me to, I wouldn’t even be giving this one star! I’d be interested to hear from anyone who this does in fact work for to give a different slant on the product.
Advantages: easily absorbed, not greasy, lasts ages Disadvantages: not convinced it actually works
I've never had the best skin around my eyes, so I was pretty keen to get this when I saw it in the shop, but at about £6 for a 15ml pot, I thought it might be a bit of a rip-off. As it turns out, it’s not because you only need to use a tiny bit and 15ml is more than enough. The pot says it has a 6 month lifespan, but I’ve had it nearly a year and it’s still over half full and hasn’t gone off.
The cream goes on really well – it’s light, easily absorbed ... ...and doesn't really have a smell, nor does it irritate the skin.
Now onto the big question, does it work? I’m still on the fence about that. Some days it seems to work wonders and my dark circles are gone, whereas other days it doesn’t seem to have any effect. The cream looks really effective while the light is shining on my face, but when my face is in shadow the dark circles sometimes return. I wonder if this is more of a concealer than a cure, ...

Advantages: Does what it says!! Disadvantages: Price and size may put you off
I recently noticed I was getting shadows under my eyes and decided to treat myself to an eye cream that would help me solve this problem. I had a compare and decided to settle for this delightful pot of loveliness. I was a little put off with the price (£5.95 from superdrug) but it was the cheapest one on the shelf! Now just to point out, it may not seem like you get a lot and, after opening the packaging I was slightly disheartend, but you really ... ...impressed with the results (I have only been using the product for about 5 days, and I can honestly see a difference already!)
My shadows are dissapearing and the skin around my eyes is looking a lot healthier.
I will definitely be buying this product in the future and urge people who have the prolem of tired or shadowed eyes to really give this a chance. ...
