*HOW I CAME ABOUT THIS PRODUCT*
After making a purchase from Boots earlier this month, I received a £5 off No7 voucher. I thought I’d take advantage of this offer because it’s quite a big saving. So, I popped into my local Boots store to see what I could get with my voucher. I had never bought any of the No7 products before, so I opted for the safe (and one of the cheapest) option of a ‘stay put’ eye shadow.

*BRAND*
No7 is a cosmetics brand exclusive to Boots. The brand contains more expensive products than other companies, but I think most of the prices are still reasonable. The brand sells most cosmetics, such as foundations, powders, eye shadows, mascaras, eye liners and concealer, and many other products.

This particular product is available as a single shadow, or as the trio pot, which has three similar and coordinating shades in it.

There are a lot of different colours available to purchase. For the single shadow the shades available are: Island Sea, Thunder, Midnight Blue, Silver Lining, Khaki, Wheatsheaf, Mink, Truffle, Innocence, and Electric Purple.

For the trio pot the shades available are: Good Earth, Space Odyssey, Renaissance, Cappuccino, Beside the sea, Romantic, Eden, Pretty Posey, Organza, Smoky Mint, and Twilight.

*PRICE AND AVALIBLITY*
The No7 brand can be found in most Boots stores, but not all smaller branches. The single eye shadow currently retails at £8 (32 Boots Advantage Points), whereas the trio pot is £10 (40 Boots Advantage Cards Point).

*PACKAGING*
The eye shadows come in a round, flat, black flip top pot. The lid has a clear panel for you to see the shade through. The lid clicks up and down to reveal the eye shadow. On the front is says No7 is gold writing, and on the back is the barcode, the shade, and the Boots contact details. There is a label on the back which we can peel back to reveal the ingredients list, and some claims about the product. When you lift the lid up you will see that three quarters of the pot is of the eye shadow and at the bottom is a small applicator (in the trio pot, the applicator is double ended) . It has a small black stick with a sponge end. After you are finished with the product you can recycle the packet.

*APPLICATION*
To apply you can use the applicator provided, but because this is so small I find it hard to coordinate. So, I opt to use my own eye shadow brush. Both an eye shadow sponge applicator and an eye shadow brush work fine. I have found that with this product the shadow is easy to pick up on the brush, and not much product is required to get a nice look. It will go onto your eye lids with ease and not much effort is required to get a good coverage of colour.

*THE EYESHADOW*

The eye shadow is tightly compressed into the pot. After application the eye shadow will sit nicely on your eye lids, it doesn’t feel too heavy either. This product claims to blend effortlessly and last for hours. The shadow does blend well, so it looks natural and professionally done.

It also lives up to its promises of ‘lasting for hours’, I have never felt the need to reapply and have worn from day to night, without it rubbing off or becoming faded. The colour will stay bright throughout the day and will not smear across your face. Although this product isn’t waterproof, it has lasted for me through rain and tears, so don’t worry about it running.

*OTHER INFORMATION*
This eye shadow claims to be hypo-allergenic and is also fragrance free. I have never had any issues with irritated or sore eyes after using this product.

This eye shadow is easy to remove with you normal make-up remover.

*ADVANTAGES*
This eye shadow is definitely one of high quality and is from a good, well known and trusted brand. The colour will last all day, and the eye shadow will not need reapplying.

*DISADVANTAGES*
The only disadvantage I can think of is that it easily comes lose in the pot and clouds up the lid with excess powder. Also, this eye shadow is a bit pricey.

*CONCLUSION*
In conclusion, this is an expensive eye shadow for £8 or £10, but I think it is of great value because of its long lasting features and good range of colours. Having said that though, you can get cheaper products that do this same thing, so considering that, I have rated it 4 stars.
