This phone makes calls, receives calls, sends and receives text messages and that is it! Ahhh what a relief to those who don't want a manula the size of war and peace and just want something simple and reliable.
It weighs 76g and is therefore both lightweight and durable. At only 102mm x 44.1mm x 17.5mm this candybar design is small enough for a trouser pocket or zip compartment of a ladies bag.
With integrated loudspeaker ideal for the outdoors, combined with a bright and handy flashlight feature this is ideal as an emergency phone as well... whether its to call a breakdown company or see the keyhole in the door this phone comes in useful in many situations. With talktime of up to 7hours and standby time of up to 365 the device just seems to keep going!
It has a clear and intense colour screen along with MP3 grade ringtones means that although it is basic it is no longer stoneage and doesn't have to be embarassing to have a simple phone.
This is also ideal as a first phone for children/teenagers as it does what is needed to keep in contact with family without being desirable, meaning it is less likely to be stolen or sought after by others.
The phone also offers a unique call tracking feature which allows you to pre-set cost or call time of individual calls, cutting the call when this limit is reached. The device also has 5 phonebooks available which means it's ideal for sharing or splitting your contacts into more manageable groups.
With stereo headset and X-press on covers available there is the opportunity to make the phone your own. Available in both black and red.

Advantages: great value for money, ease of use, excellent battery life. Disadvantages: predictive text dictionary quite poor. lack of bluetooth a problem.
After losing my old slightly more high tech phone i decided to buy a cheap and cheerful phone out of the supermarket to tide me over for a few weeks until i raised the funds to buy something better.
That was nearly 6 months ago and i am still using this phone, simply because it works perfectly well as a mobile phone. It has all the standard features that are expected of any mobile ( alarm clock, backlit colour screen, handsfree etc.) plus several ... ...is splashproof, dustproof, drunken-nights-out proof and has a very handy flashlight in the top of the phone. one of the best things about this phone must be the battery life, as i have discovered it will keep going for a week under normal usage. This makes it ideal for anyone who enjoys the outdoors, especially activities such as camping where one is away from home for any length of time. Very few few faults can be found with this phone, but a couple ...

Advantages: Simple, user-friendly, durable, reliabe, good sound quality. Disadvantages: None of the latest features
If you're not looking for fancy-ass features like a camera, bluetooth, picture messaging, mass storage, the latest tones, maps, and an mp3 player, and you want your phone to make calls and send texts, this is for you. It is incredibly user friendly, (an excellent phone for the older generation) has 4 fairly addictive but simple games, and is very reliable and durable. As something of a luddite in regard to mobile technology, I consider this the best ... ...life, great sound quality and highly simplistic functions. The ringtones are largely a little annoying but the old faithful 'nokia theme' is still there, despite not being overly trendy. If you dont mind people making comments about how old your phone looks, I highly recommend this mobile. A browser of some kind may have been nice, but that's just my personal preference. This phone sends texts, and makes calls. It doesnt pretend to do anything else. ...

Advantages: None Disadvantages: What use is a phone that won't receive calls?
...another story!!!) He purchased the Nokia 1208 from Tesco Mobile on Pay as You Go, for £17.97. It was good deal, if you top up by £15 they will triple it to £45. Well done Tesco. Anyway back to the phone review, it has the following 'features' - Screen 65k Colour CSTN Screen (96 x 68 Pixels) Large Digital Clock Wallpaper, Animated Screensavers, Jumbo Font Dual Band (GSM 900 & GSM 1800) 4 Mbytes Memory, 7 Hours Talk Time 365 Hours Standby One Touch ... ...receive calls? I think that Nokia have made a dud here at the bottom end of their range which is a pity as there will always be a market for simple to use, cheap mobiles. They should have spent less time adding a torch and more time ensuring it works properly :( Originally submitted to Dooyoo ...
