Advantages: Allows personalisation of phones Disadvantages: Not an official Nokia Product, no data transmission use.

As a non-manufacturer approached item, it is also not going to do a lot to preserve your phone warranty. Where it will save you money is if you want new logos and have Logomanager, although many logos are available free over SMS gateways. This item is not really worth the GBP20-25 price tag unless you are able to use it to unlock phones.

As the cable connects via the pinouts, which in turn requires the back cover to be removed, it can hardly be looked upon as the most satisfactory solution. Furthermore it serves no real data purpose given the fact that there is no provision for data transmission on the 3210. Advantages: Store and send Ringtones, Logos, unlock your phone, enable extended menus Disadvantages: Cannot be used for data calls, and doesn't work well with Nokia Data Suite 3.0a
I bought my data cable with the intension of unlocking my 3210 for use with another network.
I did more than I ever thought was possible.
For example, I unlocked the phone very easily, I uploaded my own operator logo, I changed my ringtones, I edited my phone book entires, I sent normal SMS, Flash SMS and Flashing SMS text messages via the cable PC. Not only did I customised my own phone, I was changing the logos and ringtones of my friends phone ... ...flashing SMS text messages, to all my friends.
I enabled the full menus such as Vibrating Alert, Net Monitor, Own number sending, line 1 and line 2
The cable can customise the phone in many ways.
The only draw back is that the 3210 is not a data phone, therefore you cannot make data calls whilst using the cable.
If you want change your phones look and sound, then you should buy a data cable ASAP. ...

Advantages: Download Ringtones Disadvantages: Confusing at times
I got my data cable to add ringtones, logos and unlock it. You know, I actually never did any of these. I got bored of it after about 10 minutes. You have to fid somewhere decent to get the rigtone/logos from, then discover you have to pay somehow alot of the time.
Then there's the trying to connect it to your phone. Don't buy this without instructions!
You need to remove the back of the phone, and insert it down the side of the SIM, and hope it's ... ...6 metal bits , and they have to touch, usually with you pushing dow o the cable to keep them touching! In fact, you're probably better off just buying the ringtones out the back of Hello Magazine or something, it's so confusing.
I must have spent a good couple of hours trying to find some program that works to unlock. They all failed miserably, so still locked to Orange........
Overall, it's not worth it unless you find a ringtone program or unlocker ...

Advantages: Allows you to connect your phone to your computer Disadvantages: You have to remove the back cover to connect it
...the vibrate function, with the Nokia Profile programme. To allow your phone to vibrate you still have to fit a vibra motor.
The cable also allows you to download operator logos, picture messages and ringtones to your phone, back up your SIM card contacts, and send texts messages (including flash ones) while typing on the keyboard.
If you own a 3210 or 3210e, having a data cable is a very useful addition, and the cost of these is now quite low. ...

Advantages: NO limit on the number of ringtones/logos sent, quick, easy and best of all FREE! Disadvantages: Small selection of ringtones (but growning constanty)
R u looking for a way to get operator logos or ringtones for your Nokia3210 without buying an expensive datacable? Well i have found a quick and easy way to get them sent to any uk mobile number by SMS text message.
And yes, they are sent for FREE!
Visit and register with www.bluebolt.com and they have a (growing) selection of ringtones and operator logos, topics ranging from sports, cartoons, love, names and brands.
I've been impressed with this site because they do no limit the number of tones or logos that you can have sent to your phone, so if you dont like any that are sent or you simply get bored you can access the site and change them in minutes. YOu can also impress your mates by sending them a cool logo.
It's worth bookmarking this site because they also offer a free SMS text messaging service.
P.S. If you don ...

Advantages: Cheap to buy now 2nd hand and reliable Disadvantages: Very few features compared to moden phones
The 3210e was essentially the same as the 3210 except it had the Line 2 facility for Orange users to run 2 separate numbers (eg office, personal) on the one phone and SIM card. The line 2 facility is useful even if you don't have and Orange SIM with line 2 activated as it stops calls being made accidentally. The keyguard system on the 3210 had a flaw that it allows 999 and 112 calls to be made even when active. Setting the phone on to line 2 prevented the calls being sent and still allowed incoming ones. Line 2 can be activated on 3210's using a datacable and a freeware programme called Nokia Profile.
As for the phone itself and not just the additional feature available with the e, you can read my review on the 3210. ...

Advantages: offers the best value for money Disadvantages: a bit dated
tones sections. Not only the number of the tones is impressive ? from 30 (5110) to 42 (3310 or 3410), but also the choice and variety of these. Compare it to average Siemens ? about 20, or Ericsson ? just some 14. And even the names of the tones are not shown on a Siemens or an Ericsson ? they simply named like ?Melody 1?, ?Melody 2?, etc. Terrible! So, Nokias may be an example in this regard.
Also, the composed tone you can send to some other Nokia phone. And also in this section you can set the ringing volume, message alert tone, keypad tones and warning and games tones.
The Nokia3210?s made for European market are not equipped with the vibration motor. But you can add this one using the datacable and special programmes. This invalidates the warranty though.
Other features.
You can change the fascias on your Nokia3210. This ...
