New Nokia 3210 looks fun on the outside, but inside it means business. Nokia 3210 stands by for up to eleven days with the standard battery. And you can write messages fast with...
more...predictive text input. Even when you use Nokia 3210 just for fun - to keep in touch with your friends, when you are out in the evening - it's nice to know that there are some serious features inside. Features that make Nokia 3210 more dependable - like long operating times and dual-band operation. And features that make Nokia 3210 easier to use, like the all-purpose Navi Key and predictive text input, so you can write fast. Nokia 3210 is the first mobile phone with Xpress-on covers you can change on both sides - front and back. Snap off the front, snap off the back, and snap on a new cover to match your mood or to suit the situation. Rocket Silver for a party, or - who knows - Zircon Green for business. You can have any color your want. Graphic covers give you the possibility to get really wild Xpress-on covers for your phone, including a matching keypad. Predictive text input makes writing fast and easy. Instead of pressing each key one, two or three times, press it just once. The text input software decodes the keystrokes and scans the internal dictionary for matching words. With this software Nokia 3210 is much easier to use for writing short messages.

Full review
I bought my Nokia 3210 six months ago when I needed to replace my old faithful Nokia 3110 which had finally died after 3 years heavy use.

Instead of telling you about all the features of the phone, such as how many ringing tones, how many games, its weight, its settings, etc. which have been elaborated on in great detail in the many other Opinions on this phone, I'd rather just tell you why I bought it and how it has lived up to my expectations. so far.

1) Being on contract with BT Cellnet, I was able to upgrade my Nokia 3110 to the 3210 free of charge - that's a good enough selling point in itself but still its only point 1. Now I could have dipped into my pocket on upgrading and bought a more 'modern' looking phone but chose not to do so because of my next point.

2) I could have upgraded my phone earlier but I waited until I was replacing my car. As I drive extensively in my job I had bought an 'all singing, all dancing' hands-free car kit for the Nokia 3110 which cost £325 in total to have permanently installed in my vehicle - a kit which incidently would only work with the Nokia 3110 and would cost £150 to have removed and re-fitted into the next car. So it made sense to hold back until the car would be replaced. However, I discovered that one of Nokia's most useful accessories was their plug-in hands-free car kit - a device which cost £70 and slots into the cigarette lighter socket, using its own large speaker to issue sound and uses the microphone of the phone to pick up sound. This kit works just as well as the 'all singing, all dancing' kit except on one point only and that is when a call comes in, you have to switch off the radio/CD player yourself unlike the expensive kit which automatically stops the music centre and at the end of the call, gently fades the sound back in. Now for the significant difference in price, I didn't find it difficult to learn to adapt to this plug-in kit.

However, I need to explain, this kit was only available for the Nokia 3210. I was sold, no need to look any further!

3) Although I know I can buy many different coloured covers for the phone, I've stuck with the original 2 tone grey/silver model not only because I think it looks classy, but it matches the interior colours of my new car to the extent that it looks as though it had been purposely designed for it (Car: Panther Black Ford Focus).

4) Size does matter! It's a lot smaller than its giant predecessor but it is significantly larger than its more modern challengers - significantly in that, as an adult male, I can key in text messages/phone numbers with ease.

5) Of its many super features, the Alarm facility is one that I could not live without - I use this daily and prefer it to the radio alarm. It's gentle and allows you to snooze as many times as you like.

All in all, I'm delighted with this model and I'm sure that I will look for reasons for holding back when it comes to the next upgrade!
