I know that the Nokia 3210 is getting a little bit old, but I still consider it to be one of the best phones on the market, the Nokia 3210 is a great mobile phone. There are so many features which other mobiles lack, which I believe makes this phone really good value for money, you could pick one up for around £70 now. I've had mine for over 14 months now, I originally began on the orange network, and have been consistently impressed, and I wanted change network but because liked the phone so much I simply had it unblocked and changed to BTCellnet.
It comes with a large collection rings, but you'll soon find that only about three of them are actually bearable, and if you get fed up of those you can program in one ring of your own and also have a ring tone sent directly to your phone by SMS (usually a small charge)
The phone also displays the time, and it can conveniently serve as an alarm clock when you're travelling. The calculator function also includes a feature that allows you to easily and quickly convert between currencies, which is again very useful when you're on holiday.
The phone is very compact, and the battery lasts for several days, supposing that you don't actually use the phone much. Like most Nokia phones, the battery life is considerably longer than other manufacturers' phones. Sound quality is also remarkably good.
There are three simple games; Rotation, Memory and snake, I generally only play on snake as I find the other two games boring and hard, for those of you who have never played snake, the game is very simple and can entertain you on a long journey for hours on end (but I am easily amused)
I have to mention the SMS service on this phone, for those who use SMS (text messaging) feature of mobile phones, the Nokia 3210 is a godsend. It comes with a "predictive text" feature which attempts to work out which word you're typing when writing text messages, with you only having to press each button once per letter instead of cycling through several options for each individual letter. Although the phone will occasionally predict incorrectly, this is actually a very useful tool for typing long messages swiftly. The dictionary is very big, even including a lot of proper names, place names and the occasional slang word!
Also, reception is generally very good on the phone, which might come as a surprise to some given the lack of an external aerial!
I did actually buy a Nokia 3310 on a contract, but I didn’t like the phone one bit and returned it to the shop, I believe it to be a copy of the 3210 with a few extra tacky features.
Overall, the Nokia 3210 offers good value for money, and is a very robust and sophisticated bit of kit. A great mobile phone!
