I was eagerly looking forward to the arrival of my new mobile, the Nokia 3510i looked the part in the brochure. I decided to upgrade my Nokia 3410 as I found very little difference from the 3330.
Heres the "tech specs" of the model from Vodafone...
I was disappointed to find that firstly the graphics were not as good as I expected, this may of course been my over expectation. The 'wallpaper' images seem somewhat blurry very difficult to comprehend how they come to give them names e.g. Flower, Birds, Birds etc.
I'm comparison to some of the other picture phones on the market, unfortunately the 3510i is somewhat lagging behind.
The fuction of the phone is in the usual Nokia format, so this phone will be a breeze for anyone who has experience of Nokia in the past, even for new users the phone would be very easy to become accquainted with, the difference to the other earlier Nokia phones being you can choose your screen colour for the menu. A simple touch, not going to win any prizes for this though.
Continuing to browse the features on the phone, I was disappointed to discover that the screen didn't have the ScreenSaver fucntion that the 3330 and the 3410 boasted. I was looking forward to seeing some nice colour screensavers on there, unfortunately you have to make do with the rather bland wallpaper.
The games are fair enough, nothing in comparison to the Sharp GX10i. I have not attempted to download any of the games as the prices are very expensive.
The polyphonic ringtones are very basic polyphonic ringtones, again there is no competition between the Sharp GX10i here. The phone doesn't have a ringtone composer so key press ringtones are out of the window, and unlike many phones now, you dont have the ability to 'record' your ringtones.
I have not tried out the WAP service on this model, judging by the reference guide the WAP is identical to the 3410. And we all know how basic the WAP service is!
This phone is ideal for anyone looking for a cheap colour screen phone. At the price of £130 is should be debated wether one should pay the extra and go for a higher model. There is very little difference between the 3410 and the 3510i.
