The 5310 XpressMusic as been out for some time now and has somewhat fallen under the radar after Nokia's releases of their N series and Classic phones. it's only slightly thicker than the 6500 classic but thanks to its plastic construct it is lighter, the Phone is available in red and blue liveries both of which look good on the phone and are reminiscent of the orange Walkman Styling on some of the newer SonyEricsson phones. On the top of the phone there is a Micro-USB port that allows data transfer and charging with the included cable, there is also a sturdy 3.5mm headphone jack, a welcome addition after many years of proprietary jacks.
The software the phone runs (S40 Platform) is easy to use and in most cases not crippled by operator branding. It includes all the usual features and as well as the yet to be widely uses Push to Talk. Overall the software is good but not that impressive, the music player, however is very good. Te dedicated music controls on the left hand side and volume control on the right are both easy to use and don't try to confuse the user with multifunction abilities, as on other music phones. The dedicated music chip allows for good playback although the range is a little limited. The bluetooth version included is 2.0 EDR this means that A2DP compatible device can be connected to allow wireless music playback. Using the Motorola HT820 headphones I was very impressed at the quality of the music the pone transmitted and there was very little skipping during playback, which is great for when your exercising.
Overall the Pros and Cons are:
Pros. Very Small. Good Music Player and Radio. Has a 3.5mm headphone jack (Like a normal mp3 player). A2DP Wireless Headphones can be used with it. Good Battery Life (With Bluetooth Off).
Cons Awful Camera and Video Recorder, it's a 2MP with no flash or even a light, and the preview mode is very poor as well. No Multitasking Very Quiet Speaker
