I have had three weeks now with my new Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, and I'm pleased to say it hasn't disappointed. I was at first very careful with my choice of mobile phone, as before I had chosen a bit of a dog. Furthermore, I was apprenhensive about the touch screen and its ease of use and general robustness. All in all, it has been pretty good so far.
The touch screen is intuitive, and Nokia's general layout is very easy to use. It is motion sensitive (much like the iPhone and iPod touch) so it rotates the layout of the screen as you rotate the phone. Texting takes a little getting used to (particularly with my large thumbs) but is, in general, good to use. It also comes with a stylus for easier navigation on the internet, as some of the links can be extremely small. Furthermore, it has a maps feature (again, much like the maps feature associated with the iPhone) which allows you to get directions and find your current locations, as well as find all sorts of local amenities such as ATM's.
It comes with an 8GB memory card, which is great for storing plenty of songs, photographs and videos. For me, one downside to the phone is the disappointing camera. It has 3.2 megapixels, but with mobile phones now competing with compact digital cameras, it is pretty underwhelming. It does however have a 3.5mm jack so you don't have to use the slightly crummy Nokia supplied earphones for listening to music. Also, it contains great speakers for playing music, and in the box are two plastic stands which allow you to place the phone upright (as the speakers are at the back of the phone - lying flat the sound can be muffled)
In the box was an extra stylus, earphones, a case, a USB lead and a cable to connect it to a TV (white, yellow and red connections).
I got this phone free on contract with T-Mobile Flext, and I'm sure if you shop around you would be able to pick this up free or with minimal cost from other providers. It would be well worth it, as this is finally a touch screen phone to rival the iPhone.

Hi there, an important topic on a cell-phone /mobile-phone (or a PDA) is the time the batteries last and the time for recharging them ... I also can argue that 3 weeks of experience isn't enough, but this is like on ciao.de then ... Cheers, Sven P.S.: Please inform me, when these informations have been added, so I'll re-rate asap ...

This doesn't really make the 'Exceptional' grade as you and your friend rd89 have rated each other's reviews, as that rating is for much more comprehensive reviews with far more length and depth of information, but a good first review and welcome to Ciao.
