The 5800 XpressMusic is a revolution for Nokia with it being the first touch screen phone produced by the manufacturer. With its slim lined shape it is an easy phone to hold and to use. The stylus being made of plastic makes the phone as light as possible and easy to hold and to use with the screen. The back of the phone can be removed without out fuss to get at the battery and the SIM card which is slotted into the side of the phone but only removable by removing the back and the battery. The Nokia 5800 takes a micro SD memory card that can go up to 16GB in size that also slots into the side of the phone that the SIM goes in.
The general use of this phone is simple and to task with many shortcuts through menus including the 4 buttons on the front of the phone one of which opens a shortcut menu for media applications including music player, gallery and web. The main menu is self explanatory and once you get used to where all the applications are the phone becomes a lot quicker to look through and to find the things that you are looking for. Also the ability to organise and change the location of your applications makes finding and using them a lot quicker and suited to your own needs.
The media side of this phone is good and with a large Memory card you can have extensive amounts files, songs and pictures. The volume of the phone is good for playing music with all the settings options and the ability to change the equaliser allows you to customise your music pleasure. With the gallery you can view all photos and videos quickly and without inconvenience. This phone also comes with a radio player so that you can listen to the radio aswell.
Messaging is quick with 4 different writing options Qwerty keyboard small and big then alpha numerical so 1 is abc and hand writing giving the user options its best to experiment with them all to see which one you can use best. Calling of the phone is easy aswell by pressing green the phone takes you through to the call list with dialed numbers received calls and missed calls all logged in order.
The camera is 3 mega pixels and is located on the back of the phone, with the back of the phone acting as the lens protector so it doesn't get scratched or damaged. The camera when used is easy to handle and navigate and can make the difference between catching that photo and not catching the photo.
Downsides about this phone are that with the screen being rather large it makes it easier for the screen to be damaged and can cost a bit to repair so this phone in my opinion is for contracts only and make sure that its ensured otherwise this phones not for you. Apart from that this phone may not be the best but it does have a wide range of uses and abilities that can help in day to day occurrence.
