Im James, Im 24. Live and work in Crewe. My current occupation is Radio Operator for a local Taxi Company and yes the most common phrase we use is "the taxi is stuck in traffic and will be with you in a minute" lol. Only kidding.

Please bear in mind that this review is my own personal opinion. I have owned the Apple Iphone 3G 8 gig version and also the Nokia 5800.
The nokia 5800 is Nokia's first venture into the touch screen world and they have released it as the dangerous opponent to the Iphone. Both phones are great in their own separate ways, Personally I still think the iphone has got the leading edge.
The touch screen responsiveness of the nokia 5800 is nowhere near as greatly sensitive as the iphone. Often needing to put a little bit more pressure on the somewhat flimsy screen of the Nokia 5800.
The Iphone screen is made of glass and works via some heat sensitive touch screen. whereas the nokia 5800 is operated by finger, Supplied plectrum or stylus which is hidden away in the rear of the casing.
All 3 touch methods on the nokia 5800 have their own plus sides. As there is different keyboard input methods.
One gripe i do have about the nokia 5800 is the fact that working applications on the device are few and far between right now. Spent a fair few hours online looking for downloads for the first S60 V5 touch screen OS.
It has its own built in GPS device, It can be used with your mobile network for when using apps like google maps, or it can be used as a normal in car Sat Nav system with voice guided turn by turn system.
The digital camera with carl zeiss auto focus lens and flash are excellent in daylight taking pictures and it can geo tag your photographs like the Apple iphone can. This means you can upload your photos to flickr and on your profile next to the photo will be a map from google telling you exactly where the photo was taken, perfect for when you been on holiday to that place where no one remember's the name. lol.
The nokia 5800 is NOT compatible with N-Gage games for anyone that was wondering like i was before i got the handset.
The Nokia 5800 has 2 camera's, one being on the front for general video calling.
It supports gsm, edge, gprs, 3G and HSDPA.
Video recording has great output similar to a mid range camcorder and considering it comes with an 8gig SDhc memory card you got plenty of space to play with.
The MP3 player is good but pretty standard for features, The sound output is loud enough to be heard from deep within a handbag or back pocket even. Sound coming from the device with headhones attached is pretty abismal. You can have the volume up full whack and still hear a puppy wimpering over the top of your music. Not good! Apparently this is due to some countries laws but most devices are well louder than this handset.
It comes with full bluetooth connectivity unlike the iphone. Wifi works spot on with the nokia 5800 and it even comes with software preloaded to hook it up to your sky digital and use the planner from anywhere to set programs up for recording. Handy if ya go to the pub and forgot to set it up for your fave shows.
In the box also comes a cage type cover for your handset, a little stand type device to hold your handset in a tilted landscape position for watchingyour films or BBC Iplayer.
It ships with Audio/video leads to hook up directtly to a CD Player or TV. Great for playing ack your captured music and home videos.
I think that has covered all the main points about tis Nokia handset, personally, between the 2 devices i would choose the Iphone for all around performance and cutting edge technology but the Nokia 5800 is still just as great but in different ways.
In my opinion you wont be gutted shelling out £200 on the nokia 5800. If your into having the best handsets then any of the handsets mentioned in this review are great in my exerience and you wont regret your purchase. I never stopped playing with these handsets when i got them......
Get one and you will know exactly what im talking about.
